I can't remember shows from childhood that I watched for the women, but now? Criminal Minds, anyone? Paget Brewster (she's cute in my profile picture, but damn, she cleans up well, too), and AJ Cook and Kirsten Vangsness - who is a lesbian who knits, even! Whew! I mean, sure, I enjoy a couple of the men on that show as well, but the women - oh my god, the women... Just remember, we're not all in New York! I appreciate a lovely English or Irish accent as well. Laughing about this because it was my term. It's OK that you don't get it, and it's open to all. Be careful, though, you might find yourself hit by a love arrow. Just one more hint; I often think about it by the airport code for Oklahoma City - OKC.
I had to Google a couple of those series. Turns out I wasn't born when they aired. :S Quick question. How old are you guys? You don't have to be extremely accurate, just enough so we can have a rough idea of the average Later-in-Life lurker.
This site used to post your age in your profile--not sure what happened with that, but always thought it was helpful! I'm 49
I know! In my defense, I procured those cigarettes before the whole L thing and the online dating attempt. I was still in a crazy place. If it were today, I would NOT have gone to those lengths. But given I'd already spent $80, I had to give them to her! It was worth it to see her lose her shit. But, don't worry, I know she's just my straight friend that I have to deal with being attracted to. Bummer. Speaking of TV, have you guys watched Gypsy yet? Just came out this summer on Netflix and was sadly canceled after just the one season, but it was SOOOOOOOO worth the time to watch Naomi Watts (NAOMI WATTS (!!!!!)) making out with a younger brunette with a British accent. DAMN. That show did things to me. Jesus. Finally, I keep racking up likes and messages on "the site". It's fun. I've even written a few messages back. At least New York City has a huge dating pool. There's gotta be somebody I might have chemistry with. We will see.
@idsm - I turn 43 next month. And I've recently been informed that 50 is the new 30, so I'm younger than I thought! Oh, and that whole second adolescence thing doesn't hurt with the age part, either!
Definitely need to check out Gypsy. And you must have a fabulous profile, because I got / get almost no attention from women on "the site" - if I didn't initiate, it didn't really happen. Ah well, it's been a good experience regardless. Chemistry is out there, for sure.
@idsm I will be 32 next month. I don't remember who mentioned Jill Hennessey, but I loved her in Crossing Jordan. All this talk of shows on Netflix is making me think I need to subscribe again. And finally, @RJay look at you go!
@RJay And she didn't even kiss you after that? Ingrate... I'm 28, by the way. It seems we have a range of a good 20 years around here. Surprisingly, it doesn't show at all.
Ok so we have a range of ages, mostly 30s and 40s. When did you first identify as bi or gay? For me, by 7 I knew I was different, by high school I self identified as bi, by college I knew I liked kissing girls, by 34 I told my mom I liked women, by 37 I was falling for a woman, by 39, 2 kids and a divorce looming- comfortable and finally accepted that I'm not straight. No labels for me right now.
How close are her hugs? Is it like body to body or a gap and off to the side? Hugs with girls have confused the shit out of me for yearssssss
I realised I was gay in my mid 20's came out at 26, before that I had no clue, although looking back im not sure how I had no clue.
Full body contact. Oh dear. I practically collapse because my knees go out. Her cheek kisses have a lot of contact too. None of my other straight friends hug me or kiss my cheek like she does. But granted, I probably started it, and she is just continuing the tradition. Damn her. Saw her from a distance again this morning and ran the F away. I'm such a scaredy-cat.
