OK, time for a silly poll! Yes, I have a morbid sense of humor. And I do not mean to take lightly the impact of natural disasters on people and their loved ones; I've had some close calls with tornadoes, myself. But, we all die at some point. So if you HAD to die in a natural disaster, which of ones listed would you choose, and why?
OK, the list is up, took a while to put them all in! ( I ran out of room for 'other...oooops!)I choose mud-slide, just because it sounded sorta funny, and also, maybe not so bad if the mud was soft, and you just sorta quickly suffocated.
Something that will drop something heavy on my head and take me out quickly. Earthquake or avalanche comes to mind.
I had to choose lightning strike, because you would be dead before you knew it, so less pain and suffering, I guess.
I chose an earthquake. I hope to get crushed by something really heavy and make it as quick and painless as possible.
I LIKE THIS THREAD <3 Well I'd hate to drown so flood and tidal wave are out. Earthquake, tornado and hurricane would be a violent and possibly slow death by blunt force or getting crushed by debris.. wouldnt wanna chance it Freezing to death would just be awful; no blizzards Drought/famine/desease are equally slow and awful ways to die, no thanks Buried alive is possibly the worse way to die ever, no avalanche or sinkholes Wild animal attack would be a gruesome and agonizing death Falling rocks/hail, would take alot of it to kill you, so nope Alright that leaves lightning, solar flare or volcano. I like these options. Lightning fries your brain before you even know what hit you, a solar flare/CME should give you some amount of time to prepare or go out on your own terms, and a volcano, depending on the type of eruption, could desintigrate you instantaneously or burn you alive. If it's the first type, I'm going with the Volcano since volcanoes are my favorite natural disaster afterall. Actually, I cant imagine a more spectacular and fitting end to my life!~ ^^
I picked lightning strike because you wouldn't feel a thing... which beats all of the other things on the list in my eyes... Wild animal attack or being poisoned from a venomous animal would be my last choice, probably.
Blizzard. I've always heard that freezing to death isn't so bad as you end up with a warm feeling and then kind of drift off to sleep. I think drowning would be the worst.
Meteor...you're done instantly. Even in an earthquake, you could still die a slow death from being partially pinned by a car etc. That's how it was in the San Fran. earthquake in 1989. Even lightning isn't guaranteed an instant death.
You don't know that. If it's a small meteor you could be laying on the ground with a hole in your head until you bleed to death. Granted, the odds of that, ever happening are astronomically small but still I'd rather bet on the Lightning.
Maddy, those rank real low on my list because people are just as likely to get trapped and die a slower death when these happen. I put down some type of disease, even though I'm somewhat of a hypochondriac. It would be tantamount to a natural death and, if it were to happen, I would wish it would take me more quickly than slowly. Another one that I thought of would be a lightning strike, providing it did the job quickly. One that really gets to me is some type of drowning. Whether a beginner or competent at swimming, I have sometimes gone under and water got down the wrong chute and the whole sensation was very unpleasant. Yes, HuskyPup, slightly morbid is accurate. ---------- Post added 8th Aug 2015 at 08:59 PM ---------- That's exactly what I was thinking of ... the people who had to be pried out of cars where the two level freeways had pancaked on top of each other.
I voted drought because I live in the dessert so I think I could last longer than anyone at least on EC.
Lighting. Because then I get to be the mother fucker who got struck by lightning. Granted, I don't want nature getting the best of me anyway but if I'm gonna go, I'm gonna make a good impression.
And if they cant get you out you get your leg amputated. Yeah I'm pretty sure Earthquake is one of the worse ways you can die on this list.
