I'm curious how many adult males, 50 years or older are registered on this site. I've been checking ages on threads I've been reading and see nothing but teens and folks in their 20's.
52 here , my brother, who is not on EC, but is the reason I'm here, is 56. I'm not sure whether I qualify as an adult though, I am sure most of my friends would say definitely not
I am 20 with 37 years experience. No thanks on "adult" limitations. I do see adults here of all ages. Rigid, inflexible and whining about it.
If you want to connect with other adult males 50 years or older chronologically but much younger in spirit you've come to the right place by posting in the LGBT Later in Life forum.
There are actually a lot of people here on EC in their late 40s on up. Many of them lurk more than they post. It's also worth noting that we (the staff) only made it a focus to actively encourage and provide resources (such as this Later in Life forum) for older members within the last year or two, while the main forum has been around for 11 years. The Later in Life section has grown pretty quickly, but it still has a lot of catching up to do.
48 year old woman here (not sure why you ask only about men...we all have useful experiences and perspectives to share). I can vouch that there are plenty of 40+'s and 50+'s in this forum. I used to spend 90% of my time in this forum when it was first established. The teens and 20's here are impressively insightful...but sometimes you just need adult company. But as time has gone by (and I have been struck by the similarity of so many stories in this forum that are so different from mine) I have expanded my social circle on the site to include both older and younger members. At any rate, welcome, and I hope you find what you're looking for here!
70-year-old male here, out of the closet only 18 months. I was active here for quite a while a year ago, but tend to lurk more these days. If you'd like to chat about something specific here, let me know. This site was instrumental in my healing process, and I'd like to give back...
52 here. I came out to my parents at the age of 35. It was scary but the most freeing thing I have ever done. Have only had 1 LTR with a man. He moved away, sadly.:tears:
