It's a board game. Board games are made for entertainment.
    Therefore they are fake.

Otherwise Milton Bradley would be in the occult business, not the board game business.

A little logic goes a long way

My dad has one and I'm forbidden from going near it. O.O

I have heard this is the ideomotor effect.

However, I have very good control of my mind. I doubt any psychological tricks would work on me.
    And still got interesting responses.

I was using the Japanese "Kokkuri-San", a method similar to Ouija.

Spirit boards were not invented by Milton Bradley, so those who mentioned it, you're argument is invalid. Similar things to the Ouija board have been around for a very long time.

Ultimately, it's pretty fun to do no matter if it's real or fake. And, you aren't gonna die.

I don't believe in polls where your vote is public, but only the OP can see the results.

I voted not sure. I am highly suspicious of anything paranormal, but I played with one as a kid and had fun.

Never mess with an ouija board. Not one of those dumb cardboard ones with the adhesive print and plastic pointer that you buy at a Target, that would be like buying a crystal ball that's made from glass. Don't mess with the authentic ones. The ones that where hand crafted in a secluded store specifically for things such as that. I was told as a child to never mess with one and I didn't listen.

They were originally just a parlor game. I wonder what some of the late victorians who used them would think about how they are regarded nowadays, probably the same way we'd react if someone from the future told us that Monopoly had the power to grant good fortune or financial ruin.

Funnily enough my mother who is quite superstitious would say they are dangerous and never to use one - yet in contradiction on several occasions when I was a child she drew letters on post-it notes in a circle on the floor and had me place my fingers with hers on an upside down glass and she'd ask questions. Never got anything other than a couple of random letters.

I think they're fake. I've played with a Ouija board. I joked that I was gonna burn it. It's cruel but I found it hilarious when people freaked out.

They're clearly fake. In my opinion, at least.

Sounds like a load of bogus if you ask me.

Why is a board game necessary to talk to spirits?
Is there an afterlife, and if so, does it correspond to any particular religion?
If spirits can manipulate objects, why don't we see a ton of mysterious cases where things make impossible movements?
Since when did anyone have "natural psychic defenses"?
What if you contact a spirit that speaks Chinese or something? How would they communicate with you?
    Ghost tricks?

If they were real, then why would anyone have to put their finger on it for it to move? Yes, it's all a load of superstitious BS like anything else that's "magic" in this world. Everything has an explanation.

I think its fake, but Ive never seen one in real life or used one. Its hard to believe that a piece of wood can have magical powers. But I have an open mind, so I voted not sure.

I would do that, if I were a spirit, I probably would be a great troll (!)

I personally think they're fake, but anyway, I don't understand their use.

If they're real, why would you mess with them??
If they're fake, why would you play with a useless piece of cardboard??

Either way, it's not something I'd like.

Nope nope nope nope. Don't even like talking about them. There have been bad personal family experiences. Stay away from them even if you don't believe in them. I will never even have one in my house.

My friends once wanted to pull one out when I was a kid and we were having a sleepover party at someone else's house. I was like. I will go outside and I will wait for you to be done if you really want to do it. I have always been super adamant about it. I will never ever mess with one. Nope.

I have heard the craziest stories from my family about paranormal stuff happening to them, but nothing's ever happened to me, so I don't really believe it. I've never tried it or seen it, though, so I'll have to wait until I get one.
