Anywhere in America where it rains or where water collects or through which water moves will now, according to this new rule change they are implementing, be under their control. Not because Congress or the people give them that authority or jurisdiction, but simply because they are seizing the power. It is just another component of the illegitimate tyranny which is oppressing the American people. On Tuesday the agency which operates as the misnamed Environmental Protection Agency unveiled their proposed change to the Clean Water Act, which would extend their regulatory control to temporary wetlands and waterways. This definition consists of any water, including seasonal ponds, streams, runoff and collection areas and irrigation water. It could include runoff from watering your lawn, or puddles on your own property. They will control the presence of and can prohibit through regulation, your right to the water and your actions regarding water upon your own land. The opportunities for their abuse would be limitless. Louisiana Senator David Vitter, the ranking Republican on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, offered an understated precautionary objection stating, “The … rule may be one of the most significant private property grabs in U.S. history.” The EPA proposal would extend their authority to include “pollution regulations” to “intermittent and ephemeral streams and wetlands” – which are created temporarily during wet seasons or following rainfall. read more
The EPA does not protect the environment. To say you can protect our environment through the use of violent action is hypocritical. Abolish the EPA and all the other three letter agencies.
How am I supposed to take this article seriously when in the first paragraph it refers to the president as B. Hussein Obama ? Try again, sir!
Alright, this is a Republican propaganda website. Folks in the right wing echo chamber are just trying to whip people into a fake hysteria.. but here is the long and short of it from EPA Deputy Administrator Bob Perciasepe. So, that's the long and short of it. If you want to read a full debunking of this Republican craziness you can go here: Myths And Facts About The EPA's Move To Protect Drinking Water. They actually have links to reputable news sites on that page such as the AP and NYT.
Reading the comments, I know in my heart that raving, paranoid lunatic American Hero Joseph McCarthy would be very proud.
This is just another Republican smear website. The EPA was founded by Richard Nixon, a Republican. This is a scarier story. Republicans who call themselves "Coal rollers" are modifying their trucks to spread toxic black smoke into the air just to show a middle finger to the President. Rolling Coal: Conservatives
Because the Clean Air and Water Act is a bad thing? I'd like to have safe water to drink and air to breathe, if you don't mind. Also, this is not a land grab... not even close. ---------- Post added 7th Jul 2014 at 12:57 PM ---------- You're being too nice to McCarthy by striking out that text.
Over on the bicycling forum I frequent this has become quite an issue. A lot of these guys are smoking out bicyclists, because they see all bicyclists as liberal environmentalist socialists. Could you imagine going out for a ride and having to deal with this: They go after hybrids, too. One pair of idiots even smoked out a cop. These guys are fucking children. ---------- Post added 7th Jul 2014 at 07:33 PM ---------- Okay, I have got to hear this.
A wonderful take on the stupid people who think it's their right to dirty up the environment because God gave them the ability to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrahQpIWD08 (Thanks Louis CK!)
