Since I am a Junior, I have to start thinking about colleges to apply to. Does anyone know of any GLBT friendly colleges? I want to go to College in the US (or Israel, if classes are in English) and want some sort of a business school undergrad. Any ideas?
Most colleges are GLBT friendly. Even colleges in the south (Arkansas) are gay friendly... you might find hate but most don't care as long as you don't like openly try to rape a hetero.
I think you will probably have a better time at a non-religous college, probably in one of the northern states. But im sure there are many good ones in the south too.
I'm trying to get some money and/or scholarships in order to study at the City College of San Francisco. They say that they're gay friendly.
Macalester College in MN was rated the #1 gay-friendliest school by the 2007 Princeton Review. It's also where former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan went...along with other prominent figures. The University of St. Thomas (where I attend) is a couple blocks away, and we have a very good business school here, however we are not as gay friendly because we are a catholic school. The University of MN also has a very good business school and are pretty gay tolerant. Carelton college is also rated one of the top in the nation for liberal arts training (same with Macalester). These are all Minnesota schools though, and I'm sure there are many other great schools out there!
Thanks guys, right now I am thinking any big school with no religious affiliation should be good, but it is probably better if it is in a blue state, or a more liberal place.
The Evergreen State College is so gay-friendly that it is filled with fake lesbians. That aside, it's a pretty interesting school. www.evegreen.edu is their site. The campus is in Olympia, WA, USA. Not religious, very blue state/school.
Pretty much any college here with the exception of the ones in west Massachusetts are pretty big and GLBT friendly.
Anyone know 'bout MIT? 'Cause I really wanna go there. And if I don't get it, what other Technological Institutes are GLBT friendly?
Thy this. It is a list of colleges that have a GLBT staff coordinator. These should be more accepting towards us: http://www.lgbtcampus.org/directory.htm
one of my really good lesbian friends is applying early there! maybe you'll meet her if you both go. it is such an awesome school...so liberal to the original poster: check out The Advocate College Guide for LGBT Students, its a worthwhile book you can buy that will give you a good sense of which colleges are best for gay students. my top choices are princeton and stanford and they are very both accepting of the LGBT community so I really hope i get into either of those (preferably princeton though)
