A friend of mine has passed away

This is really just a PSA for why I may not be around the next couple weeks or may need additional support. My friend passed in an accident yesterday afternoon, he was about my age and I've known him basically my entire life. His family and I are devastated, it doesn't seem real or fair in the slightest. I Just wish he'd made it home ok...

Thank you, at the moment I think keeping myself distracted is helping. It's only day one here on Earth without him. It's a form of living nightmare

 

Thank you, David. I've known him since we were four or five, it shouldn't be this way. His arrangements are being made today, we all hope we can have an open casket but we don't know yet. I'm hoping I get to come and his mom doesn't make it family only, we get along and I've been told I'm basically family anyway- but that would be an additional blow for me. I know I'll have to wear a dress and makeup and despite that I still want to go to support them and say goodbye to my friend.

 

He was patient, kind, great at making things, loved games and legos and the outdoors, gave amazing hugs, cooked some of the best egg sandwiches. He was also a goofball, and one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I learned yesterday he liked me as more than a friend at least before I came out to him, not sure about after. I saw him like brother.

 

Thank you all. I'm currently so tired, at work at the moment and don't want to be. I fell asleep around 1:30am and had to get up at 6:45am

Last night when I got home I took a shower, and then proceeded to sink down against my dresser and just sob. For one thing, I'd consistently gotten 5-6 hours of sleep the past three days. So total that's 18 hours max over three days. My mom and dad had been arguing with me over taking something they'd requested back to them because I was so sleep deprived and they were busy when I'd returned home. I told them I might stay and help with what they were doing, my mom said I need to quit insterting myself and let them grieve as a family. I had to ask his sister (my best friend) if I was butting in before I could try to sleep, thankfully I knew the truth and was right. I've had to work the past two days and can't take the two days after his funeral off. I hope I can make it through those without breaking down, I lasted til the tail ends of the first two.
