If you don't mind me asking what would be the difference between genuine questioning phase obsessiveness and OCD?

During the process of questioning our sexual identity, it is not uncommon to experience obsessive rumination. This phase is a normal part of self-exploration and coming to terms with sexual orientation. It involves deep introspection, reflection, and questioning to gain a better understanding of oneself.

It's important to note that while this process can feel intense and all-consuming, it should not be confused with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). OCD is a diagnosed mental health condition that is characterised by intrusive, unwanted thoughts and repetitive behaviors that significantly interfere with daily life.

Questioning one's sexual identity may involve persistent thoughts, uncertainties, and even moments of doubt. This can sometimes lead to a preoccupation with the topic, as individuals seek clarity and self-acceptance. However, it is essential to differentiate between this normal questioning process and a clinical diagnosis of OCD.

OCD is a complex mental health condition that requires a professional diagnosis from a qualified medical professional. It is not appropriate to self-diagnose or assume that every intense thought or preoccupation is indicative of OCD. Making such conclusions without professional guidance can lead to misunderstandings and unnecessary anxiety.

It's also worth emphasising that the use of pornography as a tool for self-examination and reflection on sexual identity can be misleading and inappropriate. Pornography is a form of entertainment, and it may not accurately reflect real-life experiences or diverse sexual orientations. Relying on pornography as a reference point for understanding one's sexual identity can lead to skewed perceptions and unrealistic expectations.

The questioning phase is a personal journey, and everyone's experience is unique, but we should avoid hasty conclusions.

This is OCD. It has nothing to do with latency.

Hey Bro, let's cut to the chase. You're NOT gay. You have OCD. That's no reason to think badly of yourself it's just something that needs treated. You can't believe how many guys suffer from this. I am gay and I do often think of "kissing or cuddling with another guy" and I do think of a lot of things sexual with men which is kind of what makes me gay. That's not you.

Dude, just because you're not gay doesn't mean that we don't love you or want the best for you. We really do and want the best for you and want you to be free of the pain. Please get the help of a professional that can help you get through this. In the mean time, we're here to help the best that we can and we're with you along the way to recovery.

    Peace, my brother

Is it just OCD even after what I mentioned in my last message?

Yes. You need to slow down, chill, and just stop for a while. You are chasing the rabbit by continually testing yourself. As many of the posts have stated, get to a qualified therapist. What do you have to lose by working your problem out with someone who knows what they are talking about?
