I just got news that my mother might lose her 40$ (an hour) job. I'm considering working at chuck e cheese. (I'm autistic,so I don't really have the best grasp on social stuff) Any tips on interview etiquette and things interviewers want? Much appreciated!
Employers in food service right now want someone that will show up reliably, handle chaos well, and can work with customers who are often rude and abrasive. If you have any experience that would be relevant--money handling, customer service experience, working with people and particularly children--then highlight all of that on your resume and in your interview.
Just remember that you are interviewing them just as much as they are interviewing you. If there are red flags, you aren't obligated to take the job. Make sure that they are willing to make reasonable accommodations for you being on the spectrum. My son is on the spectrum and works in food service. Fortunately, they accommodate him.
Give good eye contact. At some point they will ask if you have any questions for them. So make sure you have one or two questions up your sleeve for them
