This situation has really gotten out of hand. The punishment does not fit the crime. Reading about it makes me think of movies that show how horrible prisons are and this is includes prisons in the U.S. In Russia, it can only be far worse. Brittney Griner has been transferred to a penal colony in western Russia, her lawyers say | CNN I hold good thoughts for her and other political detainees in the hands of the Russians.
Absolutely it's horrific. Any punishment for cannabis possession is too much and the penal colony should be internationally criminal. putin is truly hateful and I feel bad for everyone whose lives he's ruining.
She was in the wrong place in the wrong time. The cannabis was merely an excuse, she was a victim of politics.
She's home now. She was in possession of a small amount of hash oil and got sentenced to 10 years in a tough women's prison in Russia. They released her in exchange for us releasing a Russian prisoner. We will get to find out what her imprisonment was like. It was very strange to read that a party or celebration for her and her wife didn't get much of a turnout. I think the Russians also closed in on her because she is a lesbian. She was in Russia because of her basketball career. I'm feeling badly for Paul Whelan who is still imprisoned in Russia.
So Russia has chosen to use its prison system as a weapon, to stick it to America (and to Ukraine). This just in: * Russians are being urged to keep their kids indoors as freed Russian convicts (sent to fight in Ukraine) come home * https://www.thedailybeast.com/russi...-as-wagners-freed-convicts-come-home?ref=home I believe that's called * karma * .
