Your AHA! Moment

My aha moment was when straight porn did nothing and when I realized I looked at women with big round butts wishing that was my booty lol

 

It's difficult to pin down one particular moment. Like many of us, I had a gradual realization over time that I was gay. I do remember reading gay erotic stories and being very turned on by them at a young age. The gay stories turned me on much more than the straight stories. I only liked the straight stories if they came from the women's perspective. Then one day I came across an old playgirl magazine that someone had thrown away. I looked through it and saw the naked guy that was the centerfold. When I saw him, I instantly became aroused. He was the sexiest, most gorgeous man I had ever laid eyes on. I couldn't get him out of my head the rest of the day. Later that day I masturbated to a fantasy about him. I couldn't deny the effect he had on me, but I still wasn't ready to admit to myself that I was gay. Years later, I'm now out and proud, but that guy in the centerfold was the closest thing to an aha moment for me.

 

I have almost the same story with my wife. We haven't been able to have sex for a couple years and I relly just put together that I'm gay. Its always been there as I look back and see it in my past, I should have seen it sooner. She doesn't know, or at least she hasn't said anything to me if she does know..

 

I can relate to a lot of the above posts, and am having little aha moments randomly.

 

Another AHA moment for me was in middle school gym class changing in the locker room with the other guys got me happy in a special way.

 

That would have been a clue if you knew what it might mean. That never happened to me and I was oblivious so even my dick failed me haha.

 

Clues were there from my teenage years. But it was never black&white. I attributed to being horny or just that person or that person made a feel a certain way or another. So a lot of things that were sexual in nature. I was kind attracted to. It turned me on. Weather it was a guy or a girl. I remember I had a lot of high school crushes.

 

I've had several over the years, but I was ten when I had my first. I was kissed by a boy at school because he said he wanted someone to love him and he wanted to be normal. I thought he was already normal, but I agreed and he kissed me. This boy was very feminine, from his walk, to the way he spoke even his mannerisms. A few months later, a friend of mine suggested we practise kissing as girls do, my first thought after the kiss was now I have to pretend to be normal.

I saw him nearly ten years later, yeah he was gay and very happy.

 

There was a bunch of little aha moments for me, as I didn't want to accept that I'm gay, but some of them were: looking at underwear ads in tne news paper, getting an erection changing and showering at school, porn was always m/m, I random kiss from a my best friend when I was a teen.

I've now accepted and but all of these things (and some graphic things that I won't list here) I finally have accepted that I'm gay.

 

Something that SHOULD have been an aha moment was when my friend showed me a cut on his leg. We were 15 or so at the time and he is much more hairy than me. When he showed me his leg I couldn’t talk because I find hairy guys to be very sexy. At the time I had definitely not admitted this to myself.

 

Looking back, I can think of a couple more. I had a magazine that featured x-rated movies. One photo showed a naked guy with a Speedo tan and it inspired me to get a Speedo. Was I subconsciously checking out his ass?

And in high school, I had to give towels to football players as they came out of the shower. I checked out some of the guys.

 

I like this thread. There are many memories and moments over the years some of them kinda more explicit than others but they remain mostly teenage stuff. I remember one year in high school we had a very handsome math teacher. He was married and his wife was not bad. They made a nice couple but he was very attractive. Like model looking.
I didn’t know what he was doing teaching math of all subjects. That was off course before the internet and social media. He could have been an actor or influencer of some sort now. I forgot his name. But i still remember him as a person and his presence for some reason. He must have made quiet an impression on me.

 

Also have another memory of a high school crush he was my lab partner in one class even drove him home one day after school.

 

I also took several mental snapshots of guys armpit hair that I can still remember 25+ years later. It’s probably unlikely that straight guys were doing this.

 

I guess one of the main A-Ha! moments that I wasn't straight. would be the real hard sex dreams I used to have about my Male Manager when I worked at Panera during my high school years and was still a very closeted boy. I had dreams of us in bed just having the rawest sex, with me bottoming him mirroring our workplace relationship oddly enough. F!!%!# it made working a little bit awkward when he was on shift. I, of course being introverted and avoidant as all hell, didn't say a damn thing and kept it to myself. To this day I still have a thing for gingers/redheads.
Now that I think about it, that was the first in the road that led me to discover my bisexuality and later on as I got much older, that I am Pansexual.

 

Ginger/Red heads get my juices flowing, too.

 

I was thirteen and had to spend half of summer vacations at my dad's. It usually sucked but I could spend all day watching cable tv cause he was obsessed with having as many channels as possible.

I found an anime channel and spent my days watching it. Among all the anime that were airing was Gravitation : A boy love anime with a pop singer falling in love with a straight novelist.

After a few episodes, the two kissed and I was like "Oh my God that's what I want".

Rest is history lmao

 

Interesting question. I guess the ah ha moment came when I had my first male sexual experience. I was 52 and it felt natural. I still question my sexuality, flip flopping between am I bi or am I gay.
