Uhhhhh, hi again? I joined this site when I was 15 after I got caught having an account on a much more adult-oriented forum even though I wasn't old enough. This was back in 2007. I posted occasionally, mostly major life updates for which I sought guidance. I feel like this site helped me quite a bit back when I was in my miserable, conservative home town. Buuuut in 2012, I moved to Rochester, New York, started making friends, started having an in-person support group, and even got married, and my attendance on here waned. Popped in a little bit after the 2016 election for some additional support, but I didn't end up sticking around. Tonight, I couldn't sleep (prolly went to bed too early), and I randomly recalled Queer as Folk, a probably-not-aged-well show; I never really watched it, only caught a couple episodes here and there. My Mom refused to let me watch anything with gay characters. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed the show much anyway, not really the sort of thing I enjoyed watching, and these days my attention span is so limited, I probably couldn't commit to it. But... I think I really like what the show represented, and the idea of it, for teenage me. A show about gay people, for gay people, featuring gay relationships. I hopped over to wikipedia and read about the show's bittersweet finale and it honestly made me cry. Now that my tears have dried, I decided to pop back to this website and post this. I'm not 100% sure why. I went back to look at some of my older posts and... yeah, there's some mild cringe there. I'm also not really sure how to end this! Other than, "Hi" again. I suppose, for the moment at least, I'm back.
Welcome back and nice to meet you I'm Rayland, trans male, he/him. I live in a very conservative country right now myself. If you ever feel like chatting, then I would be happy to chat.
Welcome back to EC! The like function is only available in the support section of the forum, so it’s not your thread specifically.
Hi @Fiender ! It is nice to read about your mini journey of growth and how EC was a part of that. NY seems like a great place to live! I am Canadian, but have family there so have visited some times! Welcome back to EC
Good to see you. It's always great when people return with updates like yours and it's nice of you to say that we helped on your journey. Welcome back!
Fiender.....Hello and welcome back to EC! It's great to have members who have been gone for a while pop back in and give us an update. It also gives encouragement to current members who are struggling to see that their life can work out! So thanks for stopping by! .....David
When I read your username, the first thought that popped into my head was, haven't seen the username in a very long time. Welcome back to the community and thank you for sharing your updates.
