I needed one different than my actual one as sometimes I get tired of my actual name. This name "Hemant" just striked. It is name for a season which is early winter called the most beautiful season of year.
I have been in the BDSM lifestyle for 20 years, so Dom. Then Lez is Lesbian and Stud is what I identify with.
So mine comes from trying to be cheeky. I am from the US and stumbled upon the British slang surfing forums while working on coming out. I was like yeah no one in the US had any idea what this is. Plus I’m a bottom. I find it absolutely comical. I get people making comments on it here from time to time. Most say it gives them a giggle.
I came up with the name because I felt like for a while I was in denial about my sexual orientation. But I've gotten somewhat better with it, at least I think.
so in my religion we have our birth names and our spiritual names so my spiritual name is Elewa which means beautiful in Uraba. My mom says that the baba saw me and was like her name is elewa
When I was originally setting up my account here on Empty Closets, I didn't know what to use for a username. I happen to have a chart taped to my computer with the words that the military uses to describe letters of the alphabet...you know...Alpha for A, etc. My eyes sort of fell on Quebec for Q and I thought that would be "different" so I picked it for my user name. Later on, I began adding David to the end of my messages as I thought it made them more personal. A little while later I started adding the gay pride flag after my signature. And there you have it! .....David
I love, love, love posts like this. I am a name geek and have spent many happy hours researching names and meanings. I started using Lucy long ago cause 1) it’s cool 2) it is short 3) it’s what I woulda named me. Marie is my (and a million other women’s) middle name. It is a family name I am proud to call mine. Lucy Marie is the same length as my first name (oooohhhh guessing game!). ((momhugs)) to myself?
Yasmin is the name I have chosen as a trans woman because it is pretty typical for converts to Islam to choose a Muslim name at least privately and I figured since I wanted to change my name to a female name I should choose an Islamic name. The day I decided to choose a muslim name I went on youtube for school and in my "Up Next Section" was a video by a Muslimah named Yasmine and I thought it was a pretty name so I chose it. Then I was born in 2002
My username is just my first name + state abbreviation. I saw someone else with a similar username and failed to be more creative, but also kind of wanted some connection to my IRL persona, which is why I ended up using an actual photo as my avatar. That's pretty cool, the corvids are very intelligent animals and a symbol of the Greek god Apollo, who's bisexual. My spirit animal is Tara Reid.
Was listening to this podcast where the people hosting it talked about how they had advertised for a "Green Mallards Association", but it was really just their friend group and no one had any idea it was them. And greenmallards was too long.
For the longest time, mine was a very hippie-sounding name that I thought imagined the embodiment of the femininity I ought to embody. Now mine is just a silly reference to an old inside joke with friends, a reminder to never take life too seriously.
