Televised sports and the olympics should be abolished. They spend too much money on it. That money could be going to people in crisis.
Olympic participants should be chosen at random. Instead of being forced to sign up for the military draft, we should be forced to sign up for the olympics, and every 4 years, we pick 'athletes' from a pool of eligible citizens age 18-65 and have them "try their best" at sports. Now that's something I'd watch
They're small, triangle shaped, orange, white, and yellow, very popular during Halloween. Just like with black licorice, people aren't shy about sharing their distaste. Normally, I'd say, "It tastes like corn!" but that's just my imagination (or lack of) Though the primary ingredient is sugar, candy corn’s flavor transcends cloying sweetness, becoming something richer and more nuanced: There’s a nuttiness reminiscent of marzipan, hints of warm vanilla, a buttery flavor belied by the fact that candy corn is, as bags proudly proclaim, a fat-free candy. I try to limit my consumption, since it contains all sorts of dyes, corn syrup, dextrose
Himalayan salt lamps do nothing. My mother bought a million of the things. They shouldn’t be sold in health food shops unless they can be eaten. I don’t believe shoving a lightbulb in a chunk of salt has any health benefits or cleans the air.
It's good in small quantities. If you overdo it, it stops tasting good. My unpopular opinion - with some - would be that I don't like the police. I feel they are necessary and have a difficult job that I wouldn't want. My run-ins with them have been few. They have been for the dumbest infractions, including 2 traffic citations that were just plain incorrect. Makes me question whether they have quotas. Why play up a power trip on law abiding citizens? On 2 occasions, they did let me off. One was in the '90s and I used the HOV lane to get off the interstate, but the exit ramp was on it, and it was Christmas eve. I didn't like most of the people I knew who went into law enforcement and running into them later in life told me my first impressions were right.
Very few people understand the meaning of the word "need" and often use it when what they really mean is "want" or "desire"
True self-driving cars are still a long way off. The current ones rely too much on basic reactions based on inputs from dumb sensors, pre-loaded 3D maps of its surroundings and external connectivity. A good self-driving car should be able to learn and build its own 3D maps on the fly, read signs, make judgment calls and predict the path of all the moving and none moving objects around it. It should also be able to determine what all the objects around it are. All this and more should be done without any network connection.
I almost hate to admit the GOP have more good looking guys in their ranks than the Democrats. I might see a photo about politics, think "who's that?," and click on the link. It's a Republican in office or in the running.
I like paper towel dispensers. I'm there forever waiting for my hands to dry with those dryers that blow hot air.
