After a few years, I decided to go back onto Empty Closets. This was also to signify my new life. A lot has happened since I was last on here. I wanted to start off by saying hello. I am in nursing school now and everyone knows I'm gay (and I'm okay with it). I've been single for a long time and recently became interested in a guy. I'll post more about it in a different forum since it's kind of a long story. I live in a great city that's nice and accepting. I love going to pride each year. My question for all of you is... What do you think of Pride and do you like going to it? Why or why not? I look forward to meeting you all!
Welcome back! As for Pride, it can be really fun... or it can be a spectacle of ridiculousness that offends nearly everybody, depending on which Pride and how you experience it. But on the whole, I enjoy Pride events. I appreciate the diversity and expression of creativity and talent, and the sense of community.
Hey, welcome back! It's nice to see another Minnesotan! Until recently I haven't had the courage to be me, so this year I want to experience the Pride thing for the first time. Most likely not in my nearest city but in the Metro or LAX. Not sure I want to run into any former coworkers yet. What field do you want to work in when you are finished with school? Dean
Thanks for the reply, to both Dean and Chip. I hope to work as a nurse. I'm considering going into gastroenterology. I love Pride and think it's a great experience. IT's like you said, Chip, it has to be done right.
Welcome back to the community! From what I've seen pride looks like it is a lot of fun, and I think it is a great thing to bring people together. Maybe one day I'll be able to go to one.
