I just came home from my school's prom and I had a really more amazing time than I could've ever imagined! I started off high school with little to no friends so having a large group of friends to hang out and dance with was such a good memory for me I didn't have a date but I felt super comfortable and happy with how I looked, danced like there was no tomorrow and just had a realllyyy nice time.. So I was wondering what are some memories that you hold onto/ or are special to you?
On my 22nd or 23rd birthday I was still DJing and really enjoyed the work because it's a social activity that has structure which I do much better at than unstructured social situations like attending a cocktail party. My birthday is on a holiday where people usually party and have fun and celebrate and I asked the bar that I held a residency at if I could run the party and they let me. The bar was kind of an old dive-bar. It was one of the gay bars in town that wasn't in the gay parts of town but usually for events it'd get a good turnout. I got dressed up all cute, played great music, saw all my friends lots of hugs and kisses and drinks and there were probably drugs too lol (it was kinda part of the times)... had a nice size crowd and probably played like a 6-8 hour set. I didn't have a car at the time so I remember dragging my hello-kitty bag full of CD books along behind me in my cute mini-skirt as the sun was coming up feeling super satisfied with how much fun I had... caught the bus home and ended up chatting with some stranger about who knows what...then I went to bed at home happy
I remember when I was in like 1st or 2nd grade going to Disney World for the first time and absolutely loving it.
I was pretty young then (early elementary school), but I still remember it because it was super awesome.
That one time the girl I am in love with currently hugged me because I came out to her, she is not just a girl I am in love with I also love her as a friend in fact one of my best friends, I was feeling way too shy for some reason and she hugged me to make me feel better and needless to say it worked.
My 21st birthday. I moved around a lot growing up so my friends are scattered around the country, but 5 of them happened to be reasonably near me on summer vacation from school so they all came to see me that day. Most of them had never met each other before and I hadn't talked to some of them in person for years. It was amazing being able to spend the day with them, and have a birthday dinner with my family and those friends from different times of my life, all gathered together in one place for just one day.
One of my favorite memories is from when I went to Hawaii when I was in third grade or so. We were staying at a rental house and I have this really vivid memory of seeing a lizard with a red throat in the garden. Thinking about that trip makes me smile in a bittersweet way because I got to spend a lot of time with my Grammy(who passed away last year).
Last summer. Me and my best friend found the resolve to do a low budget hitchhiking trip across Europe. It was absolutely amazing. We met some awesome people who let us stay overnight in their houses, stopped few trucks, travelled by a huge ferry for a very little money, slept in a park, almost infiltrated a hippie party, and much more. Can't wait to do another trip this summer!
Some of my favorite memories were: The summer of 2008 and the fall 2017 semester. This is only a select few. Those memories were good because of the general feeling I got from those times.
Swimming as a child. I don't know why, but that's the memory that always comes first when I think of happy memories. I have had other good times, but for some reason my brain focuses on the negative more than the positive. I can remember so many embarrassing and humiliating moments, but the happy ones slip away...
When a leopard at a zoo put it's nose against mine through the glass. It was so call and friendly - more like a house cat than the large predatory animal it really is. Cats really like me, for some reason. Probably because I am very calm.
No XD. It's a drawing of Dante and Ari from Dante and Aristotle Discover the Secrets of the Universe.
