Counting down the days 'til my next tattoo. My artist sent me a picture of the design and it'd be an underestimation to say that I LOVE IT! I'm super excited about it. It will be a two-session tattoo. We're going to do the linework only in the first session and the shading two weeks later. And it'll be healed just a few days before Christmas, so I will be able to swim by then, if the weather permits (It's Summer here now by the way - and usually rains on Christmas and New Year's lol). Just have to remember to keep my nipple cream with me for two weeks (gonna be 4 in total) - My artist said regular Vaseline is too dense, so though it moisturizes the tattoo, it doesn't allow it to breathe, making the healing process slower. She said I should use nipple cream instead. A bit embarrassing to buy or walk around with though, lol. But I'm good at following advice regarding aftercare, so the embarrassment is nothing in comparison
I don't. I do like tattoos and body art though. As I'm dark skinned, I'm kinda bummed that tattoos wouldn't show up as good as if they were on those who have fairer skin. But I'm thinking of getting both a memorial tattoo/graphic tattoo in honor of my twin brother that passed away of a famous cartoon character on my forearm and making the tattoo Ultraviolet as well, so under black lights, it would show up even better. Sort of like this.
That looks quite good and sorry to here about your brother getting a tattoo in remembrance of your brother will be good
Don't have any tatoos. But thinking seriously about getting just one. Taking my time to think through what I want and how it should look and where I want it. (Following the advice of Red Dragon.)
Not yet, but I really want to get a few that I've had in my head for a while now. Just waiting for my friend/artist who offered to draw them out for me!
I have 12 tattoos. I got my first one, the autism ribbon with my daughter’s details around it (left inner forearm), when I was 26 in June 2015 after taking 8 years to muster up the courage. Since then I haven’t been able to stop. I also have a purple rose and blue rose for my mum and dad ( upper left arm), angel wings with the cancer ribbon for my nan (right forearm), the infinity symbol with a rainbow feather in for my family (back of my neck) the names of my 7 nieces and nephews (right inner forearm) and a poem I wrote for my daughter (right upper forearm). I’m planning and saving for my next one dedicated to my other nan who passed away last year. They were well worth the pain and money. They all have special meaning to me and I’m very proud of them.
So a lot has happened since this post, and I still haven't gotten my tattoo Things kept popping up (doctor's bills, car service, etc.) and I've spent all of my 13th check. I had to save up some money the old-fashioned way (Saving a little bit each month) and after this month's pay day, I will finally have enough money to get my tattoo... I've chatted with my artist about a date and so far, we've decided on Friday, 2 March. But I will have to take the day off work, as she said we should try to finish the tattoo in one day (Much better than having a half-finished tattoo for 2 weeks, lol). Looking forward to it. I just hope that my skin plays along so that we can finish it in one day. If not, then I guess we will have to stick to the original plan of doing it in 2 sessions. She's also super excited because she hasn't done a dragon tattoo in a while. I think actually that she's more excited than me lol
I've thought about getting a tattoo, but I'm not sure what I could choose that I wouldn't regret in 5 years. A lot of things I liked when I was younger I feel differently now. Maybe something representing the places I grew up, like my origin and who/where I come from.
I don't have any yet, but I want to get at least one tattoo this year. I have some ideas of what I want. I just want to make sure I get something that is deserving of being on my body permanently.
I have two planned, but I just have no time (and currently no money) to get them done. both are pretty cyberpunk it seems. one is a little barcode for my left wrist and another one is a radiation trefoil in a splatter manner with a chemical symbol and an atomic mass of radium, for my right forearm. both have a very personal meaning to me and I hope to get them done ASAP.
Friday the 2nd of March 2018, I finally got my new tattoo. I've been waiting for this since November 2017 so to say I'm thrilled is a massive understatement!!! New tattoo
I have the symbol for Gemini tattooed on my collarbone. It's small - and I am so used to it by now - it feels like I was born with it. I'm not even "into" Astrology, but I do feel that some of the Gemini traits apply to me... so I got the tattoo. I would certainly like more ink in the future. I need to find someone to design some work for me, because I am far from artistic.
