So the other week I met a girl on ######. I asked her out on a date and it went incredibly well, at least from my perspective. We had a great conversation and it ended up being a 2 hour coffee. I paid and at the end of the date I asked for her phone number and she gave it to me. I texted her thanking her for meeting me and saying we should do it again sometime, which she said yes to. This was last week. I texted her earlier in the week to try to find a time to go out again but currently her grandmother is in the hospital so she said things are a bit crazy right now and she said she would let me know a time when things calm down a bit. The thing is that I am super into this girl, like she is exactly my type and I really want to go out again. I am wondering if it would be acceptable for me to text her again before she comes back at me with a time. It has been almost a week since her last text. I don't want to come across as insensitive but I also don't want to cut off communication. Again I really like her and I can see this going somewhere. Any advice would be appreciated!! Thanks EC
The best thing to do is wait until she approaches you again with a date and time to go out again, since she's in such a rough spot at the moment. For right now you don't have to "cut off communication", but I advise not badgering her for a date since she's probably a little sensitive, but just giving her your love and support and letting her know you're a friend who will always be there in her corner when things get rough.
I agree I think maybe don't mention another date but just send her a message saying you hope her grandmother is on the mend or that you hope things are not too rough for her right now.
Yeah that was what I was leaning toward. I just have a lot of negative experience with dating people I have met online. Lots of ghosting like messaging well and saying the date went well then just never talking to me again. So I guess you could say that my guard is up on this one. Thank you for the advice!
Yeah that's understandable but you have to try and not tar everyone with that brush just so you don't end up missing a good one. Easier said than done though I know.
Update: So today was the day that I planned to message her again. Instead I ran into her on the train heading to the university, and she asked me if I wanted to go for coffee. SHE ASKED ME!!!! I was worried for no reason what so ever lol
