This character is the best example of a LGBT+ superhero character, it's a new character and the character has been done well. It is great of DC to do this and after the introduction of Doctor Endless maybe more LGBT+ characters can appear in comic book worlds.
Finally DC is cathing up with Marvel in the LGBT issues. Marvel has always been one step ahead of DC when it comes to social issues. I think Marvel had the first LGBT wedding done in comics. I think it was a couple of X-men IIRC.
Ok I just found out that they aren't going to link this character to sandman at all, and they are going to have to change the name. https://www.bleedingcool.com/2017/07/13/extracting-sandman-out-of-dc-comics-doctor-endless/ But they are still going to be genderfluid, so I'm still interested.
YES! I love marvel and DC and superhero movies in general. They have a few lgbt superheroes in the comics, for instance Loki whose bisexual and genderfluid (in keeping with how he is in mythology) and Deadpool whose pansexual. But despite the fact both now have (or are at least in) their own movies, they've yet to make any reference to this. Or introduce any of the other lgbt characters. I'm really hoping things will one day progress far enough for this to be done, it would be awesome! Also then the fandom could finally stop having to ship straight characters together instead
I've got to give it to DC for creating a new hero instead of doing the Marvel bullshit of changing the gender, sexual orientation or ethnicity of an already established character. They fucking nailed the design too.
This makes me extremely happy!! I hope characters like this become more common place in the future, across all types of media. I also really want that jacket.
Not going to lie, but before reading the description I thought it was Two Face minus the acid burn. I mean the contrast between the white coat and black suit kinda has that Two Face vibe... The rainbow coat lining in this single picture, isn't doing it for me. Like it was an after thought. I would like to see some more concept art, but the character idea I do like.
Any similarity with Two Face is a coincidence, Doctor Endless is based on a character from the Sandman comics by Neil Gaiman.
