    Sitting here at my desk, working quietly away, come three words as clear as day into my thoughts....I smile simultaneously saying gently and out loud to the passing clouds in the sky outside my window...

    I am homosexual.

    Immediately posting this new thread, to write these words to each of you, knowing I have come home.

    A sense of completeness, acceptance, self understanding, surround and fills me with joy, and there's nothing to do particularly, or even to change, its not about sex (though of course thats part-n-parcel too), or shouting out loud and parading dressed up or waving a flag, but it is who I am, myriad complex, sensitive interconnected, and just wanted to share this fleeting happiness, again and again and again with EC and you.

    PS: and minutes later, comes the thought, those three words of such personal acceptance and joy, that honesty and knowing again, and again.

    That's great. I just recently, after knowing for most of my life, admitted to myself, literally said it out loud, that I'm bisexual. The only other people who know are the new friends I have made here on EC, but the sense of peace that I now have within myself is amazing. Am I still struggling with some issues? Sure I am; such as do I come out to my wife, what would her reaction be, how would friends and family take it(I think I know the answer). But ultimately I don't guess it really matters if anyone else knows because I know, and I except me for who I am.

    That's lovely. I find it a little euphoric to finally accept and be open about my sexuality too, I sometimes feel giddy and start singing along to songs on the radio a lot more too. It's so uplifting to be yourself and to not hide away a big part of your personality. The world is your oyster, there is no limit :slight_smile:.

    What is also beautiful I find is within this feeling, thr alivenesd, is the sharing here with everyone, gay and bi alike, each knowing the feelings, recognising like a language understood felt breathed in and out.

    It's great to be gay! It is!

    Coming out is the beginning of the rest of our lives as happy and comfortable individuals. Looking in the mirror is now a lot easier, the more I think of it the more I feel like crying with happiness.

    Yes, I have those moments too. Though I still struggle with anxiety over the changes this is bringing to my life, the KNOWLEDGE that I'm gay does bring me joy even though I haven't even had a date or a sexual experience yet. It's just such a new experience to be sure about something -- anything! A lifetime of living in denial... knowing something was "off" but not sure what... feeling different and strange. It's such a relief to have an answer and admit the truth to myself. I'm gay and proud to be so!

    Pretty cool feeling isn't it? for me it was knowing that I don't have to prefer one gender over others, even though I prefer guys. liking both just seems comfortable. congrats on getting there.

    Feeling the truth, knowing the truth, stating the truth - so powerful, and it does feel so good to say it and be accepted in your truth by another. We humans need each other to see each other - and to be seen for who we really truly are.

    I have to say, it's hard to engage in small talk in the outside world after spending time with you all on EC.

    Totally agree, looking in that mirror, while its not exactly the same and not completely different, it sure is nice to smile to oneself, as you say 'hello my name is Julien and I'm homosexual and proud to be gay, it's lovely to meet you'. And yes tears are part of the journey too.

    Hi RJay, what a joy it is to share these life enriching-changing-directing experiences we each live. Yes, the anxiety comes, but also the joy, each has its place...and both fade away quickly after appearing, so I find prompting the good feeling, as you say 'I'm gay and proud to be so' with the deepest and brightest of smiles makes a big difference, rolling over the top of any old feeling that happens along.

    And there is I find a bonus - which I hadn't expected and am so happy to enjoy, and that is sharing these words with you, as guys who like guys with the girls who like girls... its beautiful. Hope that makes sense. :eusa_danc
