I classify myself as agnostic. Basically I don't know whether or not if there is a god out there but I don't really want to devote my life to following a certain religion when that could possibly be wrong.
if it cannot be proven, it does not exist, i am a very practical person who relies of valid proof in order to believe something, if a God was proven to exist, then id therefore believe in their existence
Atheist. Though I think I may need to further research into similar religions to find out where I really stand XD
Staunch atheist, bordering on anti-theist, in that I strongly disagree with organized religion and the harm it causes. But, if someone is religious, that's their/your right and I'm not going to kick up an argument over it. Just do you and don't try to force it on me. I had enough of that being raised in the Jehovah's Witness cult.
Pagan. After spending most of my life as a Christian and even attending an evangelical university online, I just lost my faith. Paganism and nature based spirituality definitely fit me better.
I tend to view myself as a deist but I do believe in the divinity of nature so Pagan might be closer to the truth. I never heard of paganism until a few weeks ago so still need to read about it and figure out if it reflects my beliefs.
Isn't Atheism technically not a religion?? I imagine there is a huge convo about that on this thread but it is something I recently learned as well. That being said, I am spiritual and not religious.
Atheism is a religion like Bald is a hairstyle. So technically not, but if it were a poll about hair "Bald" would still be listed. I guess that's how I'd put it? Not literally the same thing though. I'm an atheist, and trying to achieve ridiculous Rapunzel-length hair for whatever silly reason my brain is telling me to. I don't mean we're all bald, it's just I see the lack thereof as a valid option in most cases.
Yeah, thanks Akane, for pointing that out. Still, we don't need to attack anyone who accidentally says that Atheism is a religion. >_< Just reminding you guys, because it's very easy for somebody to take offense and for this lovely thread to be taken down...
I was raised Christian, but as I grew older, I came to the realisation that religion wasn't for me. I am still highly interested in religion, but do not follow one myself.
I am a fully practising Muslim, I love the idea of it and like the spirituality it gives, but it is like weird because it condemns homosexuality ruthlessly. But anyhow, every religion does the same. And leaving it makes me feel somehow empty.
No attack or offense meant here, just having a laugh. The concept of atheism as a religion is funny to me
Not really but I'll try since you asked. My theology is built upon a lot of beliefs from each of those (plus animism and Paganism) but I do not adopt any religion (or atheism) as my own. I suppose I could be agnostic, though it could be argued that that isn't a religion anymore than atheism is and it's still a label which is always up for revision. Sorry, that's a real middle-aged answer to a pretty simple question. My spirituality, like sexuality, is ever evolving. I try to be non-committal but, in the right circumstances, I am whatever people believe me to be. I have some Mormons coming to my house tomorrow which should be interesting.
Very similar to what I believe in! I like Unitarian universalism too. But I agree on some level to advaita , probably the most to it. So yea I am a Hindu an agnostic one.
I'm a Christian, still working through which denomination but raised Baptist (which is going to make coming out to my parents rather fun, eh?)
