No, I am serious: http://www.nytimes.com/politics/fir...der-people-should-use-the-bathroom-they-want/ Cruz Attacks Trump for Transgender Bathroom Comments - NBC News Donald Trump: Transgender People Should Be Allowed to Use Bathroom of Their Choice | Mediaite And of course Cruz predictably jumps on this to pull conservative vote. But damn, Trump is a business man. He might be greedy and xenophobic, but he doesn't discriminate as long as it benefit him. Not sure what to think now.
He probably thinks that because Caitlyn Jenner is rich and famous, and therefore, he knows who she is. If we changed the question to, "A transgender custodian walks into Trump Tower. Can they use the bathroom appropriate for their gender?," I bet we would get a different response. Also, he's still like a completely disgusting sexist, heterosexist dude, and in addition, he's clueless about how heterosexist he is (like, he basically acted as if he had no idea the Supreme Court decision even happened when they asked him about marriage; jesus christ). I don't see much cause to get excited overall. ~ Adrienne
I mean,it is like he doesn't even care about losing conservative votes on this. Or maybe he is wisely cutting off the fanatics while retaining moderate votes. Though this might be a gambit, trying to keep his image as his own man not pressured by anything. He really throw off my expectations, even if I will never consider voting for him.
hope he gets the GOP nomination. i'd much rather have him than Cruz, although the thought of either one of those nutjobs running this country scares me
He changes his answers depending on his audience,. If he'd been on Fox & Friends when asked this then I'd imagine his answer and this thread would be completely different.
Trump is doing the same thing that Clinton will be doing pretty soon. He's making his move towards the center. Trump isn't an idiot, he knows that he cannot win the general election saying the crap he was saying during the primaries. He's gonna be working his way towards more moderate positions now. Honestly I think everything he's been saying during the primaries is just a load of crap he spewed out because he knew that rednecks would eat it up and carry him into the general election, and what he's saying now is closer to his real views.
Trump's had many gay celebrities on The Apprentice... Takei comes to mind, but there have been others. I can't remember if Bruce Jenner was on Celebrity Apprentice as well? I can't see him being anti-LGBT, especially since he's a lifelong New Yorker and everything I know about the city points to it being pretty pro-LGBT.
So he went to a rich gay dude's wedding. Is equal like the best supportiveness. Look, when Obergefell was decided, Trump gaffed by revealing to a reporter he didn't even know the decision had taken place, opting to say vague stuff about how we need to "get our most qualified judges on it."
I am wary to accept this as a rare case in which Trump espouses an opinion in line with the assumed mainstream progressive consensus. However we should remember that the candidate indicated that he "would consider" overturning the Supreme Court's Marriage Equality Ruling. Even if Trump were 100% pro-LGBT, there still stands the numerous other facets of his campaign that many judge as questionable at best and disastrous at worst.
As far as I can tell, Trump has no consistent political views. The guy's a joke candidate. Which makes the fact that people are voting for him all the more disturbing.
I think he is a non-opinionated person on that matter, rather than a pro-LGBT person. He completely doesn't care either way, which can sometimes be worse than someone who directly opposing us.
He's still insane, but at least he's not Cruz. I wouldn't trust either with anything though, not even a plastic spoon... much less a country. I wonder how long it'll be until he takes this back so his "buddies" stick with him?
I agree with the bolded, but I still wouldn't vote for him. There's an old saying, Even a broken clock is still right twice a day.
