Hi guys I was wondering, will one's sexual performance, sexual vitality and libido reduce after 30 years old?
A man's libido peaks at 18 or 19, a woman's in her early thirties I think. 30 is still young so vitality shouldn't be an issue. You don't need to be concerned about that until you're in your 40s.
Most of the data shows that sexual activity and arousal remains strong well into the 60s and in some cases well beyond that. (There are actually cases of widespread STI infections in assisted living homes with people in their 80s!) In general, I don't think libido really starts to decline until, on average, early to mid-50s, but even there, it's a pretty slow decline for most. Medications can have a major impact, so I think when you hear about people in their 30s or 40s lacking in sex drive, it is often a byproduct of medication they're taking for health issues (or secondary to the health issues themselves) rather than any normal decline in sex drive.
I would say it depends entirely on the person. I started to have a decline in my early 30s, but as you can see from the other posts I am very obviously the odd man out. This isn't something that I would worry about until you start to show signs where you need to get checked out. Seeing a doctor regularly and talking about anything new will help avoid missing any obviously signs that tests might help to ascertain.
Heck, after using cialis for the last 6 years of marriage, it's gratifying (to some extent) that I don't need to use it with my boyfriend... he has me as horny as a teenager whether we are together, or I'm just thinking about him...
I'm 43 and I have to say my libido has slowed down considerably. I'd say I'm down to having sex once or twice a day now. What are you gonna do?
while I agree with all the defenses here of older sexuality, the fact is that the phenomenally powerful sexuality of a 20 year old is a thing to behold, and it will not always be like that. it changes, but I would not say that it declines as much as that it matures.
I DEFINITELY have noticed a difference now now at 32 then I was 18. The quality of erections has been curbed substantially. Orgasms not as powerful. The trajectory of said orgasm isn't what it was nor the distance. What can I say...I am on a beta blocker and anti-depressant though.
Personally, I haven't found that. The only thing that really kills my libido is tiredness from constant shift work. Some guys find it harder to maintain a reasonable weight as they get older, so that might impact on performance/stamina. All the more reason to watch what you eat and try to exercise.
