^^Not so much anymore, but I used to be an avid Britney Spears fan back in the day xD Never would I wear a hat because that would just rurin' my hurr. My ears just freeze when I walk out in the cold because you can forget me putting ear muffs on either. I can be artsy. My roommates girlfriend's friend (who didn't know me at the time) came in the room and asked if I was gay because of the Christmas lights I put up ^.^ lol
nope, you both ultra gay. ---------- Post added 12th Feb 2013 at 01:21 PM ---------- converse was my question as men, women, boys, girls all ages worn em...why are they now branded the Lesbian badge? ---------- Post added 12th Feb 2013 at 01:24 PM ---------- I was raised in country, my gramma even liked flannel plaid shirts for when fishing camping hunting with grampa. I think they look great on me and I can't dare wear em and this label is why.
A lot of my friends are Girls, I can be very camp and hyper, glitter is my one true weakness and I have a tendency to stare at good looking guys. That's about it really.
i think transmen duh we all dress differently after coming out, so its not a stereotype for us it is real life. so if i think back to before i was out, likely the give aways included i needed to wear mens boots, i didn't care if i broke a nail and certainly not whine and show it to all girls to have them say OOOOHHHHH!, i was often given jars to open when women gave up and a couple times when a man did, i took weight lifting class seriously and got an A so the marines tried to get me tempted, i wasn't scared to walk alone everywhere even after dark and seems many girls are, i didn't wear nail polish and never asked girls to go shopping, i don't read novels or watch soaps, i had annual burping party BBQ, and more. But i don't see any stereotypical maleness signs really.
Ha. I was too! I had no idea the whole plaid flannel shirt stereotype existed until moving out of the village. So strange.
Flannel isn't really a stereotype in my hometown. Our village is primarily farmers and fishermen. You wear clothing that are functional. I never knew it was a stereotype until I moved to a bigger population centre.
^ How is plaid and flannel a gay stereotype, almost every straight guy I know wears plaid and flannel shirts at one point in time. Especially in the country. Maybe you are confusing urban hipsters with negative stereotypes of homosexuals, they are very similar.
^ True, I know its a stereotype for Lesbian's to wear flannel and plaid, but that is because it is masculine, so for a gay guy to wear it he is more breaking the stereotype, since people typically associate a gay fashion sense with designer clothes, not modest plaid. Mind you all the major "fashion" chains do offer flannel and plaid, but that is merely because it is in style. But Canadian's have been enjoying the lumberjack look for centuries.
