I hear "It's okay to be gay as long as you don't hit on me" used towards gay/bi/pan men a lot. It's awkward. I was at an afterschool program, in a lgbt group, straight people come in a lot usually smart and open-minded except for one girl who asked "why do people turn gay?" She seemed rather shocked at the response "they don't, they're born that way." Then there are those people that still think Pansexuality means you have a Pan fetish >.>
LOL, they didn't ban same-sex attractions until after the west fell, and the east lasted for almost a thousand years later. It actually makes more sense to say that banning homosexuality caused them to collapse. Anyways, this one guy in school: "I only have a problem with gay guys who are bigger than me, because they could theoretically rape me."
Exactly! Not only that, but there is far more countries in Europe who legalized gay marriage and other gay partnerships. Even in North America, Canada to be specific, gay marriage is completely legalized. In the U.S. only few states have gay marriage legalized. If nothing happened to Canada or the countries in Europe, why would anything happen to the U.S.? Epic facepalm.
Just heard this... "I fucking love bi chicks!! They like dick and I love two vaginas..." Thanks to the dude who overheard me coming out to one of my best guy friends tonight...
Teenage guy: "F--- you, Whore!" Step-Sister: "But how will you have kids?!" Little girl: [To my ex and me after watching us kiss] "Are you sisters?" and once I (kinda)explained things "Is that for real?"
I just wanted to share something frustrating, that I've heard some straight guys say: "It's okay for a girl to be gay, but not for a guy" :bang: It's :***:ing stupid because it should be okay regardless of gender/sex to be whatever orientation you are.
Mum: "Why do all la-la lickers look like men?" Me: "Not all lesbians are butch mum, theyre just the ones you notice" Mum: "The ones who arent butch are just attention seekers, or they've been raped and are scared of men" *in the car* Mum: "Look at that! Was that two men holding hands?" Me: "I dunno, why?" Mum: *mumbles* "unnatural" My mum can be a terrible person sometimes.
Islamic teacher : ''I'm sure that all of you here are good young people with healthy minds, not like those unnatural gay people.'' Physics teacher : ''Magnets have two poles, and opposite will always attract. Just like how boys will like girls and vice versa... well some people are just *awkward laugh* you know.. '' Friend : 'OMG I saw two lesbians kissing at the ice rink the other day and it was like sooooo disgusting!' Friend : 'I'm okay with gays, as long as they're not my friends.' Parents : 'Gay people? Oh they're okay, as long as they dont kacau (disturb) us.' I'll probably never get outta this closet.
My dad's cousin came with his wife at my parents' house once. They also brought with them their friends who are a gay couple. (My parents didn't know before we met them.) My dad said in a joking way, "There aren't many girls here!". That was very awkward but my parents were super cool about them being gay.
My sister : I hope you are not gay,I don't want you t go to hell Me: WTF Am not out to my family yet(╯︵╰,)
Boy #1: PewDiePie is gay Boy #2: But he has a girlfriend Boy #1: He can still be gay I know that gay men have girlfriends before they realise they're gay but... ugh
I have dos hypothesis! Numero uno! If they are comfortable with gay persons, the word also makes them uncomfortable. Numero dos! Because everything in society has to be pollitically correct in todays society, if you say one thing out of line you become white trash or homophobic or human garbage or whatever, so if the word gay has the possibillity of being 'non-PC' to some people in their minds as it may be in their eyes taboo or whatever, making them not say such words. I'm probably overthinking this... And that was probably a rhetorical question...
That's a possibility, but I have another. Perhaps they are scared of the person that they are asking about? You see, some people claim to take offense when asked if they are gay and they don't identify as such. It's stupid, but yeah...some people take it really badly for some reason. For instance, this happened in my English class once- Teacher: (some comment about a poem, I can't really remember) now hopefully you treat your girlfriends- or boyfriends- with more respect than that. Some random guys: What you saying? You saying we're gay? And they got all dramatic about it. Teacher: No, I was aiming that part at the girls in the class, I wasn't accusing anyone of being gay. I'm not saying that anyone is gay in this room. Some random guy: Good 'cause we're not gay! I think part the reason people are afraid of saying the word "gay" is because they're worried that if the person that they are asking about overhears them, and doesn't identify/is possibly closeted and angry/defensive then they might react badly and saying "they're not... you know..." is easy to recover from if they overhear and come up to the person and ask. "Oh no, I wasn't asking if you were gay... I was asking if you were (insert thing here)". However, I guess that only applies if said person is in the room or in a position where they know what has been said. In fact, I overheard a conversation once: Girl: And she asked if I was a lesbian! Other girl: *gasps* Girl: I know right? I can't believe she thought I was ugly and fat! I mean, I'm not fat right? Other girl: Hun, of course not! You're beautiful! Just ignore them. Girl: But she thought I looked like a lesbian! Other girl: No, you know she didn't mean that. :bang: I mean...seriously? Ugh.
"Oh, you're just confused!" "You're bisexual? This is a joke, right?" "So you want to be a boy?" "Gender dysphoria isn't real!" "Don't call yourself queer!" JFC, people.
Male friend: "I'm okay with gay people as long as they don't, like, act gay. Or talk about it around me. Or hit on me." Me: "Honey, you definitely don't have to worry about that last one."
"So, you're a lesbian?" "Yeah..." "Can I ask you a question?" (My thoughts: Oh great, here we go) "Sure" "So...I was just wondering..do you...like...use dildos?"
