I was given this nickname by my students when I lived in India. A "khan" is a person from a warrior caste. I am tall and stocky with a dark, thick beard. In Hindi, "saheb," is a term of respect when addressing a man.
I had a dutch friend and I once asked him how to say Martin (my real name) in Dutch. It's spelled Martijn, but I heard him say it, not spell it, and it's pronounced m ah r t ay n. And I fell in love with it
I used to play Silent Hill when I was a teenager. I really loved the game's story. Samael is one of the gods in the game and I really liked the game and the character. And that's it
I chose CuriousFrosty because I see me as straight and wanna try being with a guy and Frosty because i Love the Cold <3 and the 21 is my fave number
Originally, I was going to do "The Amazing Gaytheist" but that was way too many characters. Then I was going to do my current username, but "Awesome Gaytheist" was still too many characters, so I took out the space and the "e" and I honestly think "AwesomGaytheist" is a lot cooler than the above two.
I have another username which is used often in gaming communities. But as i can be monitored by nosey parents i came up with another one. i just slammed my face into a keyboard then had to put some numbers in for my emails and such. So i stuck with it. Gay dinosaur is a nickname though I just didnt think of it soon enough.
Mine comes from one of the unfinished novels cluttering my computer hard drive. The letters are the initials of my character, and 77 refers to 1977 (a year of importance in his life). I suppose I could have used my initials, but a moment of whimsy hit--this is a LGBT support site, and that character is, without doubt, gay. Also I came across EC while doing a Google search earlier this year when I was hoping to revive the novel project. It didn't revive, but at least I found EC!
Mine came from the fact that my nick name used to be Grack, because I miswrote my name once, and then lil from that everyone calls me little all the time.
"Seize the day" in Latin is Carpe Diem. But since I'm mostly active during night hours and I spend the day sleeping or doing nothing productive, I translated Seize the night in Latin class, so I got Carpe Noctem... And I use it pretty much everywhere..
I got my new username sooner than I thought I would. Steele is the name of one of the characters in a story I've been working on for several years now. At first I just inserted him into the story because I needed to fill some holes, but he ended up being one of the most important characters and a character I feel I can relate to, both things I didn't do intentionally.
As well as being a native speaker of English, I'm a fluent speaker of French. "Dans le placard" is the literal French translation of "in the closet", though the phrase "dans le placard" doesn't usually have the same meaning in French (at least not in the society-wide vernacular as "in the closet" does in the English-speaking world), and instead implies physically being in an actual closet. I was aware, of course, about what I was doing with my username, and thought it was a fun play on words. In any case, while I may figuratively have been in the closet when I joined, I've proudly stumbled out of it since joining, and I can happily tell you the door is permanently locked!
