    Right now, I'm feeling guilty for being here on EC when my partner's parents are coming to stay on Wednesday and there's a bedroom to get ready and a bit of ironing to do.

    As I'm new on EC and you don't know me very well, there are two things I hate:

    1. Cleaning windows. I'm too much of a perfectionist and always find fault. SO occasionally I ask the window cleaner to do INSIDE and OUT and I pay him double. He's quite easy on the eyes, but my motive is that if I find fault, I have someone other than myself to blame!

    2. I hate ironing.


    I also have chicory, but that's not on the agenda today!

    Think of me as I iron the Red Curtain (Nooooooooo! Not the Red Curtain!!!!!!)

    Fortunately, the room they're staying in is on the shady side of the house so they won't detect the dirty windows!!!!! (HaHaHaHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!)

    The Red Curtain is ironed and hanging up again.

    The bedding is washed and drying on the line.

    I've picked and cooked our home-grown gooseberries and made four gooseberry fools for dessert when they arrive.

    I've realized that the thorns on gooseberry bushes are deadly - my arm looks like I've been attacked by a demented cat.

    Gooseberry bushes are the places where babies are "found" - why on earth did anyone decide to start that particular myth to explain the mysteries of child-birth.

    Are there any other birth-myths I should know about?

    So - not guilty but curious!:grin:

    You might be "violino solo senza basso" at the moment, but you'll progress onto "con basso continuo" eventually and you'll be out to "tutti" and not have to speak your name "con sordino" any more. You'll be able to play "molto forte", "con arco", "collegno", pizzicato" and even "sul ponticello" if you want and NO-ONE will be able to keep you down. Remember - sometimes the "concertante" follows the "solo", sometimes the "ripieno", but very few of us play solo for ever.

    Believe me - I'm a viola player!

    (*hug*) Take a filial hug from a fellow string-section member!





    Now I'm feeling hungry - I can smell the stroganoff now!

    Panicked. My mum is coming to stay for the night and to help me take my things home from university. I only went to one or two of the meetings of the college LGBT club, but I seem to have gathered a disproportionate amout of flyers. Which, considering that no one even knows I'm questioning, is probably going to make me have a heart attack at some point while she's here. Seriously, packing is stressful enough without this.
