Same here. I think since I came out to my friend I've been acting a bit more girly or gay.

    A few characteristics of mine:
-never dress like a stereotypical gay
    -HATE pink and rainbows
-don't talk like the stereostype but apparently my friend tells me I do say a few words girly like "bitch". Lol
    -Not really big on higene(lol)
    -love alternative rock music.
-don't like shopping unless it's for hats, sunglasses or tech stuff(video games, music etc.)
-very sarcastic(not sure where this goes)
    -loves Jeremy from Paramore
-I like to point out when a girls hot. Idk why I just do. It's fun. Lol
    -Love horror movies
    -love video games!
-watch shows like Glee, Greek, Dexter, Big Bang Theory and Disney Channel.

I do not mean to flame this thread, but i am not fond of the term "stereotypical gay". With many people struggling to come to terms with their sexuality, i do think that stereotyping confuses them a bit more. We definitely do not go around asking what is a stereotypical straight?

The only stereotyping characteristic that i share with you gay guys is that I LIKE DICK..... haha......i am not sure what is the equivalent for the gay gals/lesbians are.....

munching carpet, to put it nicely.

And actually, there is just as much stereotypical straight things as gay things. What we mean by "Stereotypically gay" is something a guy does that falls under the gender binary of "female" and something a girl does that falls under the gender binary of "male". If i watched football, that would be a "Stereotypically straight" thing i do.

The word "stereotypically" may not be the best one to use, but it gets the idea across the easiest. I dont think its the best word because people assume its something else we are talking about. If your a guy who acts like a girl or a girl who acts like a guy, that is neither a negative or positive thing. Its not "better" or "good" either way. Its just who you are, and thats something that should be celebrated. Its quite hard to be "stereotypically gay" in a world that rejects it, so having a thread you can be who you are without any restraints or is a nice temporary escape from the harsh world outside emptyclosets.

Atleast thats my take on things :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    I'm not a stereotypical gay...
    -No lisp/"gay" accent
-I don't even like the way look, but they are fun to get gayhaters angry
    -I don't own anything pink
-I can hold my own in a fight
    However..
    -I love lady gaga
    -I love gay music
-I'm way into theater and the performing arts
    -I always smell nice
-and I'm always completely horny(but I guess that's more of a guy stereotype in general)

Haha! Huh. No, really not. I don't fit with the stereotypical gay... I guess?

On facebook, I often post notes I call "Chronicles of a gay guy" XD... And I calculated the probabilities of me, being a gay stereotype.

So: Gays love shopping, makeup and gossips. ....
I hate makeup  .... gossips, they are... what they are... and I love shopping o.o ...

Gays are feminine, they move their arms while screaming YOUHOU with a little voice.
I don't act like a girl, I don't have an annoying voice, and I don't move my arms while screaming YOHOU!!!!

    Every gay becomes a hairdresser:
... Let's see .... NO! ... If you wanna look like the hobbo I saw yesterday ... maybe

Gays are all good dancers and obssessed by fashion:
    Me...dancing? NO!! ... But I'm obssessed by fashion

Gays are all sad because they don't form a family:
    THANKS GOD

    All gays have aids:
    Don't think so... seriously u__u .

    So, I am a stereotypical gay at...... 23,07 % !!!! ... HAHA!

    But, I also know I am ... 110 % for men

    ...

Haha, it's so great to see the diversity of the gay community!

-I'm kind of femme, but not very.
-I don't have a lisp; my voice is very robust.
-I kind of adore Lady GaGa. I thought I lost my love of her, but her Barbara Walters interview kind of renewed it for me.
-I have an even mix of guy and girl friends.
-I don't get theater in most cases.

    not really.

    but!
    - i do like female singers / electronic / pop music (Bjork, Garbage, Bowie, Patrick Wolf NOT Britney or Madonna!)
    - i guess i have some stereotypical mannerisms
    - i am very emotional but NOT flamy
    - i am artistic
    - i do care about how i look and wear nicely fitted clothes but i hate brand names and most mainstream fashions
    - i am NOT a sporty person!
    - i like movies that revolve around human relationships, but not the predictable shithouse hollywood ones!
    - i love cooking and food!!!

apart from those stereotypes, my friend calls me the most un-gay gay he knows (but he doesnt know many!)

    largely no

-I don't like stereotypically gay music
    -I don't sound gay
    -I love watching sports
    -I love playing sports
-I have more guy friends than girlfriends
    -I don't like gay clubs
-Many gay guys actually kinda annoy me
And there are many more :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    However

    -I do like shopping
    -I like tight fitting clothes
    -I wear makeup sometimes
-I spend time planning outfits and looks

But generally my gay characteristics are those you would only notice after getting to know me for a bit, so no i wouldn't say i am stereotypical.

My friends joke around with me that I'm the most archetypical "guy" out of the group of us, and I'm the gay one!

My nickname used to be StealthFag, because I didn't give off that many hints. However...

    * My laugh occasionally zooms up into the giggle register.
    * I do love disco (mainly because it's what I listened to as a kid).
    * I like to cross my legs when I sit.
    * I do this weird flourish with my wrist when I point at things.

These aren't affectations. Just part of what makes Lex Lex, alo g with the non-gay stuff like enjoying sports, not liking dancepop and musical theater, having a low voice, and wearing jeans and T-shirts. I'm streoypically gay if you look at the right parts. But, as I've said, such things are "proof" that I'm gay...only because I'm gay. If I acted precisely the same but was straight, they'd be "quirks".

    Lex

    :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Stereotypical? Not really...though if you get me in the right mood, I'll gay all over. And giggle rather than laugh.

There's "there happy butt dance" I do with my sister.
    The cooking.
    The art.
    The dislike of sports.
And all the things I've been putting off because it would make me look "gay." Like I wish I had awesome shoes for once, and trying get my hair more under control.

And I feel free to gay it up when its fun, especially when I'm hanging out with "the girls," because they play along happily. The theater people are fun too, though that is obvious.

    I love my jeans & t-shirts.
    I never wear make-up.

I pretty much don't fit the stereotype.

-I straighten my hair on a daily basis.
-It's a rare occasion if I leave the house without makeup.
-I usually have my toes painted hotpink, and sometimes that involves glitter.
-Sports hold absolutely no interest for me. Especially softball. No thanks.
    -Not a fan of cats.
-I own a zillion cute tank tops.
    -I love dresses.
-In fact I have a few pink dresses, lots of my clothes are pink.
    -I love purses and shoes.
    -I enjoy chick flicks.
-Going to church and being a Christian are a big part of my life.
    -I love NSYNC
-I love the Twilight series. I saw Twilight in theaters 5 times, and so far New Moon in theaters twice.

Things that do fit the stereotype:

-Altho I'm not too handy with power tools, I plan to work construction this summer (somewhat) which will involve me learning how to use more power tools. Circular saw here I come!
-I've seen every episode of The L Word.

    Win.(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)

    ----------

Have you heard of a "Lip Stick Lesbian"? It's another stereotype for the really girly lesbian. Not to say you are one but it is a persona I have heard of.
