Also, Ya zuster, nee zuster (2002). It's another musical that's supposed to take place in the mid-1960s, but it's just utterly charming and fun and a little bizarre.

I don't know most of the movies called out here, need to educate myself! I really liked Better Than Chocolate, though.
Angels in America Latter Days ---------- Post added 28th Oct 2010 at 01:00 PM ---------- OMG! I forgot about C.R.A.Z.Y I love that movie...I love the mom's accent and her toasting the bread with an iron!
latter days, beautiful thing, shelter and (just cuz jay brannan was brilliant in it) holding trevor! did not like for a lost soldier.. that was child abuse dream boy pretty much traumatised me
It's a slightly older one but I've recently seen Torch Song Trilogy and I loved it. It does get quite sad in parts but there are some great moments in it as well.
Latter Days was the first movie to make me bawl. I cry all the time at movies -- Toy Story 3 particularly got me choked up -- but Latter Days seriously made me sob. Like shuddering gasps and biting my pillow sobbing. I guess I'm too easily affected by amazing cinematic ventures. I'd have to say that that and Were the World Mine are my favorites. Still looking for a good lesbian movie, though...is it just me or are they hard to find?
