Why Do People Close Their Eyes When Kissing?

1. Because people don't look as good close up ^^

2. Because every time you shut off, limit or ignore one of your senses, the more the others are enhanced.

Probably more of a psychological thing but people think that you will feel more when you're less distracted by silly things like sight.

 

Personally, It's just more natural to do it that way. If I had my eyes open I think it'd just be awkward.

 

Agree with you on that. I thought about this a few months ago. So I texted it out and when I was kissing my boyfriend I opened my eyes and just stared at him. So he opened his eyes cause he felt that I was staring at him. He stop kissing me and said that was strange. Which it is... to me.

 

I'm pretty sure it's because you slightly cross your eyes if they're open and you focus on the other person, or you zone out and don't focus. Not quite romantic.

 

Because I don't want to look her in the eye when we're kissing. I think the emotion is better translated through one sense than through many.

Funny thing is I actually have the tendency to open my eyes and my partner once told me she found it really creepy. We did an experiment to see what it feels like; so she kept her eyes opened and i closed mine, and when i open them and saw her starring at me; it was pretty frightening lmao.

So like other people said, I think it`s just akward to be so close and to keep your eyes open (even though I do enjoy watching my partners reaction when we kiss). And closing your eyes does allow you to focus on the feeling more than anything.

 

hahaha i laughed when i read about eye ball licking thats just...wow.

and i keep them closed because it creeps me out to have someone lookin into my eyes like that. and i dont want them to get an eye lash in my eye ouch.

 

OK, so kissing is all about feeling and you close your eyes so you can be wrapped in the sensation of having your lips together and don't get distracted by everything around you.
So that's why i close my eyes.

I think it is because when one of your senses isn't working (Sight) the others become stronger in this case the one you will want to get stronger is touch so I guess it would just enhance the all round kissing sensation.

its definitely more romantic, its like your closing down your main sense and concentrating all on that person. Eyes open is somehow less personal in my opinion, almost like you're not willing to totally absorb yourself in the kiss. Thats my opinion anyway
