very very cool, i dont wanna sound pretentious but i love how telephone poles are made out of something in nature, that we use for electronic purposes
i just did a new piece as a birthday present for my niece. Check it out www.patecreative.blogspot.com I love mixed media.
I've got this panorama setting on my camera where I can stitch up to five pictures together. I like how it distorts the shoreline and has the horizon level. That's the Toronto skyline photographed from the Island ferry boat. The big tall building in the middle is the CN Tower which until recently was the tallest building in the world.
I love Photography. I'm not THAT good, but I get on i guess. I've got a little site, but obv. I can't put it on EC. AS MUCH as I'd love to get it some traffic.
I love the person in the water, Jenn. And Mr B, I love pictures like that. Where I'm not sure I know what's going on. I took some pics at a couple amusement parks. As usual, I picked out the weird stuff. Lex
Oooh I like this thread, I'll definitely have to upload some stuff when I get time! Just asking though, I'm assuming we'd have to edit out things like legible signatures?
Here are a couple examples of my paintings, you can find the rest in my album linked to this profile.
I love your paintings, Vance. They're really cool! ...and I've never photographed a parking meter, but I HAVE photographed a gas pump (see first page). Oddly, I've now found that two of my coworkers have photographed the same gas pump! Lex
Yaay finally got around to pulling some signatures off of stuff. I am mostly a painter / someone-who-draws (drawer? I never know). This is pretty close to what I do most often. (The photo sucks because I am by no means a photographer. I am taking a class next semester to fix that!) I work like this a lot, too. This was done in figure drawing class, but I've adapted the technique to other stuff. Works well on the human figure though! This one I did in high school, and the photograph is terrible, but I still love it. It's a self portrait! (part photo transfer, part colored pencil) I have more in an album thinger here : http://www.emptyclosets.com/forum/album.php?albumid=1367 I have more recent works I need to photograph, but oh I am terrible with that freakin' camera.
Oh hey, this thread resurfaced. I've done some black and white photography since then so what the heck. Pardon the shoddy quality; these are really photos of photos. Although I know how to use my SLR, I do not know how to use my digital camera. Go figure. And a Grasshopper!
wow i really love this picture! it's so creative! nice style, it's different. :icon_bigg what's the story behind this?
Thanks! Basically, it's part of an ongoing series of paintings featuring this little character I have, Toulouse. He wakes up one day and it's like his world's changed overnight -- some things are just different, a rare few things changed for the better, but by and large it's rather nightmarish. And he has no idea why so he gets to wander around and see if he can fix it! This is the first painting in that series I did. I have a few more that I've yet to photograph. I'm not sure where I'm going with it, though. It's mainly an excuse to draw this little guy without feeling like I'm being overly saccharine, hehe. I love drawing him though, he's so adorable!
