Lesbian finger-length (graph)

Nope, no lesbian fingers. Back to questioning I go...

 

On both my hands the fingers are the same length. Also I have heard about this like 8 years ago so it's not really new as the article makes it seem to be.

 

My index and ring finger are the same length on my right hand and my ring finger is shorter on my left. I have feminine finger lengths, which shouldn't be surprising. Still a lesbian, though.

 

This research is pretty fascinating. I read a 2007 article on a later study which found that the trend of white women having lower index-to-ring finger length is not statistically significant, and that this trend was not evident in black or Chinese women. Phew!

Yet another study showed that index-to-ring finger length ratios were no different between heterosexual and homosexual women, but it did show that the ratios for gay men and straight men were significantly different. Hmm...

I have actually heard of this before, and even participated in a survey in which I was asked to measure my fingers precisely from a specified point at the joint to the fingertip (rather than just looking and seeing which looks longer to you). Millimeters count. On my right hand, the ring finger is about 4 millimeters longer. On the left, it's more like six.

The theory is that testosterone exposure in the womb causes (or is a contributing factor in) both the difference in finger length ratios and homosexuality in women, and that there will therefore be a statistical correlation; since the same factor contributes to both characteristics, they will often, but not always, be present in the same people. The theory does not suggest that ALL lesbians will have longer ring fingers, nor that ALL women with such longer ring fingers are lesbians.

This research is being done by people seeking supporting evidence that homosexuality is biological and innate, by correlating it with characteristics that are clearly biological and innate, like the length of your fingers.

Still, it is fun to see if you have "gay hands."

My fingers are the exactly the same length on my right hand and the index finger 1 mm shorter on the left.

So I have the "female" ratio. Or the lack-of-testosterone ratio as it really is. Which again isn't uncommon in MtFs anyway

 

Its true for me too (my index finger is shorter than my fourth finger on both my hands) xD

 

I honestly seam to be some type of mutant, I've only ever heard of one finger being long than the other but both of mine are the exact to same size. Any one else like that?

 

My Right hand is MORE Lesbian than my left hand, by at least 2mm...

Hah... I totally do, as a matter of fact.

Also, people have told me that the way I look at my nails (palm facing me, curl fingers in, as opposed to palm facing away, fingers straight) is an indication of lesbian behavior. *shrug*

 

DUDE. I was totally just thinking about this the other day in the car while looking at my unpolished fingernails. Closer examination revealed my index fingers are definitely shorter than my ring fingers. I told my sister to give me her hand so I could look at her fingers and her index and ring fingers were about even. I guess it's pretty accurate as far as we go--she's straight, and I'm queer. Whatever, it's funny.

I also look at my nails with the palm facing me and fingers curling in, though I've been told it's "manly behavior". :lol:
