No I don't think so because like 50% of the people I know don't have it and pretty sure they are straight. It's annoying more people should have it filled in! Also when someone has "interested: Women, men" I can't tell if they might think it means for friendship or what. T.T Why can't they just have "orientation: gay/bi/straight" I hate the way "interested in: men" sounds. Not interested in "MEN" im interested in guys my own age... not... Men...

I have become a fan of a lot of gay right's pages for Prop. 8, Referendum 71 (which extended rights to gay and lesbian couples here in washington state), and gay marriage in general. If I ever had anyone directly ask me if I was gay i would say yes but that has never happened and I don't have the guts right now to come out. But it will happen VERY soon. My myspace page is also similar in info but I only check it probably once a month.

If someone doesn't have "Interested In" filled in, or put up, or if they appear pretty gay in their pictures or other activiites, then I can guess that they're not straight. Then again you never know.. There was a story out of MIT. Some kids devised a way to tell, if someone on facebook was gay or not regardless of their profile information. The number one indicator....The number of male friends you have. The higher the count the higher the chance of being identified as gay. It doesnt work with lesbians or bisexuals. They are planning to reasearch it a little better and turn it into an iPhone app.

In fact, a straight friend of mine was messing around with his facebook profile, and when he removed the "Interested In" field from his profile, his facebook started showing him gay ads. When he put it back to "Interested in Women", the gay ads went away. As for mine...
