I don't recall exactly now when it was. It was after he connected with Sylvie, at least, and they were talking about their history. She asked him if he had been with any Princesses or Princes and he said something like "a bit of both".
This thread is making me feel old. It is also making me feel happy. When I was growing up representation of LGBT people was limited and usualt they were portrayed as villainous or as the butt of jokes. I'm glad that there is so much representation now. Oh, and I am so relating to Isaac on Ghosts.
I love that show! I didn't get to see the whole scene where he came out because my family fast fowarded through it- typical...
I loved David and Patrick in Schitts Creek and more recently having just watched Heartstopper Nick and Charlie and Tara and Darcy. Growing up in the early 90's in the UK there was a show called Drop The Dead Donkey featuring a character called Helen who was a lesbian and I think that's the first time I'd ever heard a word to describe how I felt. I had a massive crush on her.
It’s nice to see a lot of David and Patrick love on here. What drew me to them as a couple when I watched the show was how healthy their relationship seemed. I didn’t feel like the writing used any gay tropes to cause unnecessary drama between them. When David and Patrick had a problem it was about something any couple could experience no matter their sexualities. When they wanted to express their feelings in private or in public they could. No one would shame them for being vulnerable.
I agree 100% with Rainbow64 regarding Queen Maeve. I remember Helen from Drop the Dead Donkey, had a crush on Joy. I also love Seven and Raffi from Picard, beautiful strong women. My favourite though are Nicky and Joe from The Old Guard, boyfriends for 900 years and still look at each other with such love.
In no real order: Krem (TransMasc), Sera (Gay), Fenris (Bi) Anders (Bi) Zevran (Bi), Iron Bull (Bi), Dorian (Gay), Merrill (Bi), Leliana (Bi) (Dragon Age) Liara T'Soni (Bi), Jack (Bi), Aria T'Loak (Gay), Nyreen Kandros (Gay), Peepee B'Sayle (Bi), Vetra Nyx (Bi), Suvi Anwar (Gay), Jaal Ama Darav (Bi) (Mass Effect)
I watched The Old Guard this afternoon. I also thought the interactions between Nicky and Joe were adorable. If we got a movie or comic that is just about their time in the Crusades I would be even more ecstatic.
I have not read the comics yet, but they do go a little into the characters history, maybe the next movie will do the same. But I agree, more of them would be nice.
Nick nelson and charlie spring, I love that they're not just two men dating. They're two men living their lives and happily dating as an added bonus. Just like straight characters. also nick is bi....
I think a part of it comes down to the validation and understanding a person in the community can feel when the representation is done well. Even though that person should gain the validation and understanding on their own too.
