I just posted this as my Facebook status "I didn't think that I was going to do this, but as the month of June has progressed, I feel more and more compelled to post this status. Some people already know, but I just want to say that although it is only part of my identity and not the entirety, I am part of the LGBTQ community. It has only taken 48 years to be comfortable with and proud of this part of myself."
It actually feels like even more of a burden has been lifted. Its also weird to get all the positive feedback like someone saying that I am an inspiration.
This is pretty exciting. I have found if you are attracted to men and want to be with one letting people know you are gay makes finding love a little easier. It may only be part of who you are but it’s a wonderful part of you and one that can make life very enjoyable.
Oh my, I LOVE THIS. So so so fab. And I'm jealous. I want to scream it from the rooftops but I am just not there yet. So happy for you!!!!
Oh wow that is one huge step forward I have wanted to do that but not had the nerve yet .. Good for you
That's absolutely wonderful! Congratulations!! I want to try the Facebook thing in September, so I always like to hear how it goes for everyone... Were there any replies or messages that really surprised you?
Good for you @bsg75apollo and nicely expressed Hope you are feeling positive and looking forward to the possibilities ahead
I was more surprised by the number of likes I got and who liked the post. I didn't mind getting called courageous or a bad-ass either.
Wow. Big step. You are definitely owning it with confidence and pride. Amazing move! No matter how much courage and determination I have I don’t think I can pull this one where I live.
Well I agree with the men part, lol. Good for you as you make progress towards you true sexual identity.
