ZenForo is far superior than Vbulletin. I understand it takes time to migrate things over. Just hope that people's profiles are where they left them and the original links redirect to the proper forum postings.
So I just accidentally made a double post, is there a way on here for us to delete our own posts within a time limit on this platform like there was on the old version?
At some point could you take a look at Blackend or a screenshot (I can send you one) and perhaps find something similar in appearance that will work with UI/X? Also, it's been a while since I got into it but I'm thinking that Blackend may work with UI/X. I remember something about that, not sure what it was now. I'm an old guy and I forget things. Blackend was wildly popular when I installed it on another forum.
The blog system is beginning to come online, but please be aware that pre-migration blog entries are currently missing and being investigated further.
Probably a stupid question, but what is this new "like" feature and how does it work? I see a stat for people of "likes received" but I don't see anywhere where you can "like" something that someone said. Just curious.
It's currently enabled in the forums located inside the Support Area. An individual can like a person's post either to signify agreement with the advice being given, or as a way of thanking the person for taking the time to reply. It's a bit of a gimmick that I have always been a bit skeptical of - it used to be disabled on EC Classic - but it's currently undergoing a trial basis in the Support Area to see how well it works.
UI/X does have a mostly black color scheme similar to Blackend. We're unlikely to choose a dark color scheme as a main theme. At the point, way down in our priority list, where we start implementing color alternatives for UI/X, we might make an optional darker theme as a user-selectable choice, but it's not anywhere on our priority list at present, and isn't likely to be for a while. Our first priority is getting the current theme tweaked to make it more universally readable and user-friendly. That should happen likely within the next month or so.
1) I can't seem to deselect Show Online Status. I mean, I can and a message pops up saying that I am hidden from visitors but then I click somewhere else, and see that my Show Online Status is back on. Is this by design? 2) What's the difference between how the old "friends" worked and following and being followed now work?
Think of the old way like Facebook and the new way like Twitter. There's no longer the concept of friends, but followers. You can follow people without them following you back and vice versa. The equivalent to friends would be two people who choose to follow each other. Profile privacy settings can still be configured to display information only to people that you follow if that's something you want to do.
mbanema pretty much outlined this. Content for the people you follow also gets put into your news feed, so you can better keep track of people's posts on here and see what they're getting up to.
