...to our Jewish friends. High holiday festivities start tonight with the Jewish New Year, it will be the year 5775 (yes, we're still in the seventies...).
HNY to all the Jewish folks on here and out there. Oh, the seventies! I'd really love to go back and live that decade :icon_bigg
Happy New Year, indeed. I think that both the '70s and the '80s had their quirks that live on because the media won't let us forget them, but that's ok! "L'chaim!" I even like the way that sounds.
Happy New Year to all the Jewish members of EC! ---------- Post added 24th Sep 2014 at 06:15 PM ---------- Does this go as far as having homes furnished with bilious green shag carpet?
I don't know about bilious green, but it seems that carpeting that looks more like shag is either in style or it was in style not too long ago. Some styles just need to go away.
:roflmao: Translation: "To a good new year, may it be inscribed and sealed." Who said Jews need to be happy? LOL!
Ditto to all on the HNY! We had a really nice family service out our shul last night and this morning with new prayer books. Maybe things are moving up in that world too...
 Silly boys, don't you know that Orange is the new bilious green?! Hope it's a very good new year for you greatwhale!
Too bad there isn't a Sarah Palin "gaffe" for every Jewish holy day. However, though not exactly yesterday's news, this is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time: http://bosguydotcom.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/sarah-palin.jpg Sorry. I couldn't resist. Mazel tov.
Oh, this was funny! A belated Shana Tova everyone and hope the fast went well for those who took part x
