Hello again. I'm just bumping this up to get any more people who missed it when I first posted. ---------- Post added 8th Jan 2014 at 09:47 AM ---------- Also, do you guys think that EC should have a forum for teens or older members?
I seem to fit the criteria... so nice to meet you all. "Also, do you guys think that EC should have a forum for teens or older members?" I really don't think separate forums for teens and older members are necessary in the end it's a support forum and so separating the two would only reduce the amount of people who can support either group and there isn't necessarily enough teens for a forum in itself anyway.
Hi there! I'm 17, still have a few years as a teenager I just wanted to ask how many of you have LGBT people out in your schools? Because in my area, I don't know about anyone (apart from myself obviously...but I'm not out) and it just feels lonely at times and I have no idea how I should date girls when there's no one here who is out. Have any of you been in the same situation? What did you do?
HAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smilewave:smilewave:smilewave ---------- Post added 9th Jan 2014 at 05:41 PM ---------- There are only really a few girls who I personally know who are even semi-out at my school. One of them is my "girlfriend", I don't even know if we're even dating anymore... But that's a thread for another time... So, yeah, that's what my middle school is like, persons. (just pretend you know everything about it)
I only started discovering other "out" girls after I came out. It might surprise you when you find out how many LGBT people are really at your school. Once one person comes out, some other people might follow.
I am the only LGBT person at my school but im not out so there could be others in th closet.i have been in the same situation the only thing i could suggest is trying to find out if there are any LGBT youth clubs near you that you could go to or maybe you could join another club and see if you can find someone. I did know a few bi girls who used to go to my school but they have moved and i did meet a gay guy through one of my friends im out to but it didnt work out.
So, I know it's a little late. But better late than never… I'm a teenager too But "let's get to the question": Our "out LGBT students never last long". They either leave school quite quickly or they only come out when they're in class 12. I don't think I'm the only one in school, but I'm definitely the only one in my grade. And since I'm in class 12 it would be "my turn" now… But I really can't. Not because they're homophobic (well maybe some of them are but it's not that bad)… I just don't want to answer all these questions… I don't want to be the "LGBT representation"… I just feel like it's none of their business… And I might be a little scared... So, I do know what you mean. I barely know any LGBT teens…Not really. And the problem is, that you don't really know, unless they tell you. I think there are a lot more LGBT students in my school… You just don't "see" them. But once they get older they might come out and once I feel ready, I might come out too. It just needs a little bit of time. Don't you worry :icon_wink
I'm a teenager for now - but I turn 20 next year. Looking forward to dropping the teenager tag. Kinda weird that I'm grouped with people who were being born while I was in school, lol.
