I Instruct Fitness classes here in my town for a bunch of my friends, and I thought I would share, for those of you that want to get into tip top shape for that special someone. I will be posting the exorcises I do everyday in this thread so you can follow along. And I will try to keep it fresh. You will need: NOTHING at all. No weights. Nothing. Just a carpet for some of the lay down exorcises. Some of the more advanced people can use. Ankle/hand weights. A Yoga Ball. Levels: Start at the level that feels most appropriate for you. Level 1 = 1/5 of the exorcise. Level 2 = 2/5 of the exorcise. Level 3 = 3/5 of the exorcise. Level 4 = 4/5 of the exorcise. Level 5 = The Exorcise. Questions/Suggestions: If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. I will gladly answer all of your questions to help you get the most out of this. If you want to work a certain body part, then make a post, and I will do a specific exorcise to target that body part. Tips I will be putting tips up with the exorcises everyday.
I will make sure to read this thread everyday . I would like to work on my abs, if thats okay.. -Luis(*hug*)
Exorcises Tip -- dont forget to stretch chest/shoulders/lower back 100 pushups without stopping. Tip -- you can hold yourself up, but dont let yourself fall calfs (this can also work your butt if you flex it) 200 calf raises without stopping. Tip -- I usually do in front of the t.v. so I dont get bored. abs 500 repetitions -- abs. spread this out over about 20 minutes. Tip -- Mix it up: situps, crunches (try switching it up by turning your knees so they are resting on the right, or left side if you want a specific burn), leg raises (while laying on your back with your hands tucked under your butt)
What about quality over quantity? I find out I get better results if I perform not as many repetitions, but instead focus on the quality of each individual one.
A motto I always follow is -- the better you get, the better you get. Do as much as you can while keeping good technique. If I want you to go slow, I will tell you to. But otherwise, go at a steady pace. Slower exorcises work more of the stabalizer muscles. Faster exorcises work more of the quick burst/short muscles. But in the end, the better you get at the exorcises, the better the burn will be.
Intresting. well! i do belly dancing and yoga every day and i seem to be ok so... i will keep on ur updates though
Good guide Mike, even if it still is a little small. I've got a few tips I'll post here for working out specific muscles (lats, triceps, deltoids,...).
I would die if I had to do 500 crunches/sit-up in 20 mins. However, now we know why Beebo looks as good as he does *drool* I'm so jealous! :tears:
He got kicked out of his house... If some people are still interested I can *try* and continue what Mike started if I find some time.
Okay! IM BACKKKKK. Get on your tights and short shorts and headbands and prepare to work those firm buttocks. BUT NOT TILL TOMOROW. sorry people. I am still walking on silly putty from my experience. Tomorow I will officially be restarting -in support of the wonderful staff here at EC- Beebo's big gay fitness place.
Man I didn't know pushups and leg raises could get rid of those pesky ghosts! (It's exercise, and I'm just kidding around with you) Serious workout question though: I was told it was better to do sit ups with your calves on a low couch/chair, is this true, or does it really matter?
It's harder to go all the way extended and back all the way down. That could be an advantage or a disadvantage depending on your skill level.
I know a few things about excercise and one that I think is big is if you do say half the number of push ups but do them twice as slow you will teare more muscel fibers and build muscel faster!
