Well - Lex beat me to the Jill Sobule video (Same title, different song). And, actually, I hadn't realised it was that long ago - but one of the videos of it shows as being from 1995...
I kissed a girl and i liked it. Just for fun. What do you guys think of the new video *I kissed a girl and i liked it*??
I like the song a lot, as well as the video. it's pretty hot and Katy Perry is a gorgeous person anyways. BUT, I don't really see much meaning in the song. It has a great beat and it's catchy, but there doesn't seem to be anything to it (a lot like 4 minutes...). HOWEVER, many of her other songs are fantastic. I'm sure people here have found "UR So Gay" already, but I'll post it for Katy Perry's sake. but this is probably just because it describes me so well... ...except for the not liking boys part.
I like the song a lot, actually. My mom thinks its trashy, but I think it's funny. Katy Perry is "fierce." (I totally stole that from Christian Siriano)
There's a song that horrible but it makes me laugh every time, it's called "lick it" by god-des and she. Has anyone else heard it?
I'm lovin' this song. I sing it all the time. People give weird looks, but I dont care. :] It's good.
This quote summed up my feelings pretty well. "Katy Perry...distills every reprehensible thing about the age of The Hills into one pop album. She disses her boyfriend with gay-baiting; she makes out with a girl and she's doesn't even like girls; she brags to a suitor that he can't afford her, parties till she's face-down in the porcelain, drops brands as if they were weapons, curses casually, and trades under-the-table favors...The problem is not with Katy's gender-bending, it's that her heart isn't in it; she's just using it to get her places, so she sinks to crass, craven depths that turn One of the Boys into a grotesque emblem of all the wretched excesses of this decade." Or, file it under "If it's too loud, you're too old." Lex
I have to admit, that song is catchy. But you people should problably read this before admiring her... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25802385/ http://www.duanemoody.com/2008/06/what-do-you-have-against-gay-people-katy-perry/ I like this part, from the second link : It made me change my point of view about Katy Perry to be honest ...
this song was on the raido at work 2day, im not really a fan of it, but i turned it up a little, to see how the other people would react... my team leader walked over and cranked it up, and we were cleaning, and sining together...
i love this song. i am so pleased that it is now number 1 in the uk. is it just me or are the radio stations over here just not playing this song? the only station i've heard it on when it hasn't been the official chart show is galaxy. i can understand why some people think it's a tad trashy. maybe it's a gimmick but i still think it's a great song. and it's no worse than when tatu pretended to be lesbians to get to number 1. i still enjoyed all the things she said nevertheless and it did help me with my own sexuality. just like 'i kissed a girl' is doing now. i think songs like these do help people in the closet. it's like having an outlet for your feelings. and it's also good to see how people react to it. like 'so, katy perry is number 1 now' and then you can see if the people you know are homophobic or not. it can be quite handy for that.
