I thought an instrumental would've been better, since the audience wouldn't be able to listen to both the lyrics of the song and our messages at the same time.
I absolutely adore Sarah McLachlan. >.> I figured if it's possible we'd just use the first and third verses, since our video isn't going to be very long. I'll keep looking, this is only one option. But I did think the song fit well with the message and feeling of the video. Hm. So things that have to be done; Replies to PMs need to be made. We need to decide who's saying what lines. More lines have to be written. We have to decide whether the film shall be presented in black and white or sepia. We need to decide on a background We need a definitive choice for bg music What else?
We can experiment with black and white and sepia. I'm leaning towards going for the black and white, since it looks more 'classy' and professional in my opinion. If everyone chooses a light monochromatic background, it should look nearly the same in all of the clips since it (I think) will be in B&W or sepia. Its also important that nobody has any background objects, since that is very distracting. I agree that we need an instrumental. Rule number one of videography: if people are speaking, it almost never sounds good to have singing in the background. If you only need to write one line, then I don't mind giving up my lines so that someone else can say them. This sounds like it will be a lot of fun!
Alright, some more options then. Destiny - Hitomi Shimatani (Instrumental) http://youtube.com/watch?v=ldOm-1oBeso Rising Sun - DBSK (Instrumental) http://youtube.com/watch?v=POTKrIwQ5O0 There was a couple more, but my computer is being an angsty piece of lame, so I'll update this again later.
I was thinking more along the lines of something like this. Or this (although because that theme is from an episode of Family Guy, it mightn't work well) ...but that's just me.
Yeah, I don't listen to much instrumental music, so I won't be very helpful as far as that's concerned. >.< I think those are both good choices, I like the second one in particular.
Kay, so we still don't have replies from a couple people, but I'm just updating here so the people don't forget about it. As of right now we have 14 recorders (not all confirmed) and 14 lines. If the rest confirm, we'll have exactly the right amount. But if the people don't confirm, then I'll need to add some more so it's even. If every one could let me know at some point before the recording starts, would they rather say one line or two lines? Here are some other lines I've thought about adding; Who am I? Why does it matter? I'm me/me/me/ in a hundred different ways And in a hundred different more We're all the same We love no matter what We live no matter what Because we have to Uh. >.> To be continued? I can't think right now.
Maybe a line that goes like: 'A gay person looks like this/this/this' and then have a bunch of people say this right after each other or something similar right before it switches to only text.
That sounds like a really good ones. Those lines always get to me. Like in those commercials for awareness of diseases and stuff.
I think Becky posted an awesome quote a little while ago; Be careful who you hate, it could be someone you love.
Rightio, all peeps have now replied. Yays. We shall be moving onto the next stage shortly. I think I need to PM you all about languages too. So yeah, what now Choucho?
