I used to live in Norwich, England. I have since moved, but there is one thing I always still keep with me. It's even sitting on my desk right by the tablet I use to do all my work.

Norwich pride was still emerging, and there was one time I could do anything related to it (I could never actually go because I was always called to the US or back to my Husband's when we were engaged). Also emerging was a small Italian pizza restaurant, and when I say small, I mean the place could hold maybe 20 people. The food there was Italian-style pizza and other cuisines, being cooked by two ladies who had only been living in Italy. It was and still is my favorite pizza place, and my favorite restaurant in the whole city. Now if you find it, you'll probably see a bunch of wealthy people in their later years jamming the place to the gills. It took one time for them to get a glance at, and I can now barely ever find it not packed. It's that good.

Anyway, they had Norwich pride rainbow rubber wristbands for 50p in a jar by the register, next to a bunch of other Italian treats. I bought one of them, thinking that I might end up losing it by the time I was out of college.

    I have since:
    - Been to Disneyworld
    - Graduated twice
    - Got married
    - Began playing baseball again
    - Been in the hospital at least twice
    - Gotten covid and recovered
    - Been to Mexico
    - Gone to see countless movies (further back than Detective Pikachu and the last 2 Star Wars movies)

All with this wristband attached to me.

Yes, it's a reminder of that pizza place, but it's also a reminder to me that Norwich will always be my "home" even if I'm away from there. I've been lost in other places. Never in Norwich.

That's awesome. Your wristband has become a heirloom, hope you never lose it...

I have a copy of "Taking a Chance on God" by John J McNeill that sits out in my office at all times. ( Yes, the word "chance" is in pink on the cover.) I know it is subtle, but it is a daily reminder that God loves me exactly the way He made me.

It brings a gay perspective to fundamental Christian questions.
