When thinking about how much you'll have progressed in your transition by your next birthday makes you so happy because it's finally happening.

They say the masculine derivative of your birth name upon boarding a plane, because the female name on your ID doesn't make sense.

When you dream at night that you make friends with two transgender people, wake up suddenly and think: "Well, maybe I need for some reason to know a transgender person in real life and not just on internet".

When having the freedom to wear short hair means that now I can actually try out and enjoy different styles rather than hide it out of mortification.

And when you enjoy it while young / pre-hrt because your male relatives went bald early so... there's no hope... xD

They call it transition. Yes, transition of hair from the head to the face.

I very much hope the terrible receding hairline of men in my family skips me. I'm particularly fond of my hair and would hate to lose it. Oh vanity...

Good news is that I've inherited just about every other possible recessive gene. I'm the only kid who hasn't lost my eyesight, the only ginger, the only LGBT one... Maybe I'll keep a full head of hair too, who knows.

When you start obsessing in the mirror about wanting to have a masculine looking face and then start trying to find out which haircuts would bring out your masculine features.

When your dysphoria surrounding a physical attribute is so engrained in your day to day life that you don't realize how dysphoric you are about that part of yourself until you finally take the leap to change it.

... For me its my hair.

When you meet people who didn't see you for one year and in the while you changed gender expression from black to white, and all are weirded out by the change.

When the dudes your hanging out with don't know your trans so they make jokes to one of the guys saying "Bro, do you identify as a girl?" and while everyone else laughs and punches each other you just kind of stand there not knowing if you should just laugh or keep smiling awkwardly at them.

When someone calls me “bro” and I dislike it on multiple levels.
When I am disappointed about getting a masculine dance part.
When someone asks me if i’m in the right locker room, and I only say yes because i’v been using it for as long as I can remember.
