I liked Hercules as well, although I didn't actually fancy Kevin Sorbo that much.

But Ares? Damn, he was hot. The dark hair and goaty and chest forest. I still get madly turned on by guys with that look. He had that sexy voice as well.

I remember a lot of people squealing over Tom Hiddleston as Loki in the Marvel Thor movies, but I was like "no, that's not a sexy god. Go back and watch Ares in Xena."

I would tell myself that just because I got a weird feeling watching two girls kiss on screen and would rewatch it didn’t mean I was gay. Just because I bought a box set of The L Word didn5 mean I was a lesbian. Just because I compared how much hotter Demi Lovato got between Camp Rock 1&2 didn’t mean I liked girls. Just because I cared more about a super smart witch and less about the wizard with the worst luck ever didn’t mean anything.I gave up on the whole I didn’t like girls when I replaced the boys in my long running daydreams with girls.

Just because...I do/think/feel (insert suspiciously gay activity or mood) it doesn't mean I am gay! I've used this as an excuse soo many times. Indeed, if one takes each thing separately it might not mean much but if you add them up... Along with this one goes the infamous "but straight girls do so as well, so it doesn't mean anything". Even though many things I liked to believe straight girls do, were either false or very rarely did not mean anything.

In my case most people didn't seem to suspect I'm gay. They thought I was too picky with boys.

I have been told I'm picky all my life. I am picky with women too.

I’m 26 and never dated and if I hadn’t told my mother I like girls she wouldn’t have figured it out. My dad and my extended family haven’t figured it out either. I haven’t dated boys or girls and I’m wondering if my family thinks I’m asexual rather than lesbian.

When you see a picture of a straight couple getting romantic or sexy, you get jealous of the guy for having the girl. I'd be like "How come he's getting some but I'm not???"

When you look at girls the way straight guys do.

When you spend a good 5-8 years forcing yourself into a religion you don't believe in, out of effort to suppress your "internal conflict" and therefore be accepted by family. Whoops.

I didn't chose to be gay, but I sure as heck chose to ignore it.

I had tried dating boys and then had a relationship with a man but I felt no excitement to see them after a while. I only liked the idea of being like everyone else. I was trying to hide the truth from others and myself but in the end I was always happier when I broke up with them.

I once got really jealous of a guy who had a girlfriend with the most symmetrical butt I had ever seen. I was in denial but I remember thinking: "Damn, I wish I could be him right now. He's such a lucky bastard". But I kept telling myself I was just curious.

I remember yelling to myself in an outbreak of internalized homophobia as I looked at an animated, woman "STOP LOOKING AT HER LIKE A DUDE!!!" "She's a girl. Girls are friends, not lovers".

*cue shark from Nemo fish are friends not food*

    LOL

I didn't grow up with brimstone and hell kind of sermons, but I see what you mean.

Yep, I chose to fight it as well. I don't want to fight with myself anymore. I have a long way ahead to fully live as I'd like though.

You still have posters of attractive people of the opposite sex on your wall.

Strangely I never had posters on my bedroom walls. It felt as if I had strangers watching me and I didn't like it.

When you spent years checking out men and fantasizing about men, and watching (mostly) gay porn, but told yourself that you were still straight, because you still think women are hot, and all your crushes have been on women.

Hell, there's still moments where I forget that I'm bisexual.
