How do you size these things? I read somewhere take you waist size in men's and subtract 21. I'm a 32, which means I'd be an 11 in women's. Only the waist measurement seems a teeny bit small. Also most places only have even numbers. Go up to 12, whatever. Does it depend on the fit? If they'll fit lower, the actual waist might not matter, like with guy's jeans, I assume.

I'd prefer low rise, as they seem to sit about where most men's jeans do, so I'm used to them. Mid rise look suuuuuper cute, but it may take a bit to get used to those. I'd like to get one pair and see. High rise don't look particularly comfortable, and I don't frankly care for the look.

    Any ideas?

    Yeah, you'd probably be about a 10 or 12 in women's sizes with a 32.

Try a 12 and then adjust from there.

This is important: women's sizing is totally arbitrary. You're probably going to have to try a few different sizes before you get the right one, and even then, it will probably vary among different stores, brands and even styles. And the reason most sizes are even numbers is because those are ladies sizes. Odd numbers are junior sizes and they're made for adolescents with a less "child bearing frame". That rule about subtracting 11 is probably a good guideline, but it's very much going to depend on your body shape and the way you want your pants to fit you. I am a 29 waist in men's jeans and would probably wear about a 7. I have a very Juniorish body shape. Ladies don't fit well.

Also, length can be a problem. I think petite is 30 inseam, regular is 32, and long is 34.

Also, if you take my size in men's and subtract 21, I would be an 8 which definitely wouldn't fit me. I would wear a 5 or 6 though.

Less "child bearing frame" aka, your average trans girl. lol. Should I be shopping in juniors? I think I may be a bit big for that(I'm working on losing a bit of weight. Not liking the muffin top.)

I know sizing is arbitrary, I've read that plenty. Looks like I'll have to ty some and see.....

They definitely make juniors in 11 and 13. I think they are usually smaller in the thigh and butt area. You might try both.

Women's clothing sizes are ridiculous. Both men's and women's clothing should be sized the same way: waist size, hip size, etc. It's a bunch of bullshit. I don't fit in either men's or women's jeans well. I'll stick with stretchy faux jeans, what they used to call jeggings. (Do they still call them jeggings nowadays?) I do miss the bootcut though.

I've seen the term "jeggings," and yes they do still make them. I'm looking at getting a pair, maybe. Though they may be a bit tight in the crotch to be comfortable....

You really need to try them on. Different brands vary a lot in shape, and also a bit in size. I only get long pants from one store, because that brand fits me the least awkwardly.

...Finding trousers in the "opposite" isle is always a time consuming thing. Everything else, no problem..but trousers...
Your best bet is really to try them on and see if they fit since even trousers of the same size can fit very differently.

I'd look for trousers that accentuate your hips and the whole "sand-figure" thing if you're looking for stuff that makes passing easier.

Otherwise just take whatever is comfortable or looks good.

Trousers that are stretchy and fit close to your legs can actually look really feminine and cute with boots.

Either way, lots of luck and have fun shopping.

..also adding jeggings probably won't actually be that uncomfortable for certain areas because of stretchy material. So that should hopefully be alright.

Good to hear! Though let's be honest, I'm plenty willing to tuck for fashion sake...

So what I'm getting is, I need to find some courage and shop in person?

Yeah, I'm getting the materials to make one. Athletic tape works well, but is too much hassle. Plus working with a gaff is way quieter and easier to hide in the bathroom....
