Did you ever wonder why earrings became so popular with men ? A man is at work one day when he notices that his co-worker is wearing an earring. The man knows his co-worker to be a normally conservative fellow, and is curious about his sudden change in "fashion sense". The man walks up to him and says, "I didn't know you were into earrings." "Don't make such a big deal, it's only an earring," he replies sheepishly. His friend falls silent for a few minutes, but then his curiosity prods him to ask, "So, how long have you been wearing one ?" "Ever since my wife found it in my truck."
Jokes aside, earrings are just cool. I used to have a stud in each ear, way back when I thought I was straight and I eventually stopped wearing them, allowing them to heal. I'm sort of regretting that now and am considering having them redone.
I protested getting mine pierced as a kid, had to for my sister's wedding. The first time I took them out I passed out lol. Now I only wear studs, anything dangly makes me angry with myself because I really want to pass as male.
I had gotten mine pierced back in 1976 by my girlfriend. The old ice and needle way. she gave me a pair of her old studs to wear.
Hi @TinyWerewolf I’m non binary but more masculine. I’d never wear feminine earrings but there are some fun masculine dangly earrings. I wear little hoops and also safety pin and paper clip earrings. I also have a hoop that has a skull dangling from it. Another hoop I have has a chain with an ear cuff attached to it. It all depends on what style we like doesn’t it?
Ouch! I remember my Nan telling me she pierced her own ears by this method. I was cringing when she was describing it. She did one ear in the morning and the other in the afternoon.
I need to get it done again. I've wanted to for a while and now even more so as it seems like a good avenue for self expression.
Clothes, accessories, make up, cute things have no gender, so it's okay to wear them however you wish. Important thing is that you yourself are comfortable and if you can freely express yourself, then I think that it's wonderful. I've been meaning to get my ears pierced. I've never done it despite being 30 years old. There are so many styles you can choose from. I want to get 2 holes on both sides. I dislike the tangly ones though.
