Why did you join this website?

I joined because I realized that being well into my 30s I finally had to start discussing & acknowledging everything I'd been trying NOT to. It's painful and I'm mostly alone.

 

I joined because...
(a) I am trans.
(b) I am asexual.
(c) Online is easier than real life interaction with humans.
(d) I was bored.
(e) I have no one to complain to about my miserable life and thus spew my lunacy on the blue walls of EC.

Why I've stayed...
(a) I've actually met some decent humans.
(b) Cake.

 

I joined empty closets because I was struggling to express my bisexuality. (!)

 

I was confused about all of this and a little afraid to express myself, since I've been raised in a strictly straight home and I didn't have anyone to talk to.

 

I joined because my s/o and I were discussing the fact we don't know anyone else like us, and that we had never found any communities or discussion online about our kind of relationship. I decided to try and find something, so here I am

 

I was searching transgender one day and came across this site as first hit I think.

 

I joined because I've been so in my head with trying to figure out who I am and labeling my sexuality, and I honestly wanted to meet others that can understand the struggle. That, and I was hoping to find my "tribe" (so to speak) and be apart of a family/community, since I've been feeling pretty isolated for awhile.

 

I was looking for a new website to use, plus I was questioning my gender and romantic orientation at the time, and ended up finding this website.

 

This sums up why I joined the only difference being I'm in my forties.

 

I joined this website because I have no LGBTQ friends at all in the country I live in and most of my straight friends aren't interested in talking about lgbt, some of them are homophobic or aren't supportive of the lgbt, and most likely my family is going to be against the idea of me being gay.

 

I wanted to make friends (I am five years old)

 

I had no fucking idea what was wrong with me back then... (Not that I feel I'm any wiser now)

 

I joined when I was very religious and wondering if I could somehow hide my identity for the sake of that religion... The answer was no, and I'm happy it was.

 

I joined because I needed advice about transitioning (and the trans community and language in general).

I literally knew next to nothing about it, and I wanted to do it as fast as I could. People here helped me realize that my school were being assholes to me and that I should stand my ground as much as possible (which I did). I also could relate to others and their stories.

Right now, I'm here to give advice and just talk about random subjects. I like to have discussions about certain topics and this forum is good for that as well.

 

I joined this website to feel more connected to the lgbt community, to meet other lesbians and to help me realize that I'm not the only one stuggling to reveal my true self.

 

I don't really remember, though odds are I came here because I wanted advice.

 

I could barely say 'bisexual' out loud without panicking. So, since I couldn't tell anyone due to a mixture of my aloof personality and severe anxiety I took to the internet! Found this place, even though I never use forums(this is the fifth post or so I've made since I've been on here in about 5 months), and told people. In the end it was to say it without having to say it, but I'm thankfully past that now in part to this site and my own growing acceptance.

 

I joined because why the hell not.

 

Well it started out trying to find a fix to being transgender, after awhile the people here helped me accept myself. That and the people here are fabulous.

 

I had trolled this site for awhile. I googled a lot of questions that came up on here.

I actually decided to commit to joining because I was in unrequited love with my female best friend and had no one to talk to about it. This site has proven to be very healing.
