Where we buy our eggs determines where they're stored. Ones we buy from the shop go in the fridge, but those purchased directly from a local farm are left out until we're ready to use them.

Fresh eggs are safe to store in the cubbard/the counter. However processed eggs from the store should be refrigerated.

(I grew up on a dairy/chicken farm. We always had fresh eggs and never bought them.)

In France we put eggs (and milk!) in the cupboard, now I live in the US no choice but to put them in the fridge and now I am confused about what I'll do once I move out of here again!

Milk here is hyper processed and it took me quite a long-while to get adjusted to it (as it just didn't taste like milk), so I don't think I would trust any/most food not to go in the fridge here. None of the dairy products I have come across in the supermarkets (be it cheese, milk etc...) appear to really taste natural so I feel compelled to keep everything refrigerated in fear they might become bio-hazards very quickly. There is legit notices everywhere around the supermarkets warning you most food you are about to buy might give you cancer which I find a little funny but also a little??? I get they want to clean themselves off from any potential lawsuits but I was so weirded out the first time I shopped in California because it genuinely feels like you are signing a waiver saying " I understand I'll potentially get cancer from buying food in this supermarket, but I need to eat so YOLO!'' Very strange experience haha so my vote goes to the fridge!

Yeah, that's how it is in California. I've been told that the cancer warning signs aren't as prevalent in other places in the country, but that could just be BS since I don't remember where I heard that from.
I live in California and buy food at the supermarket so all our eggs have to be refrigerated. My family doesn't use them that often, I don't really like how they taste by themselves and we only have a stove and a microwave to work with so any eggs we have usually go bad before we can use more than half of the dozen.

Yeah it may sound strange and I think it might be a United States only thing, but lots of people here (mostly 45+ year olds and the kids they taught to do it) put normal batteries like this in their refrigerator thinking they're somehow being smart and making them last longer due to a myth.

I've never heard of putting batteries in the fridge, but I always keep eggs in the fridge.

Wait some people keep eggs in the cupboard/pantry thing, wow that's cool.
I put my eggs in the fridge because my mom said they will go bad if you don't but right now I am questioning her accountability.
I also put eggs in the fridge because I consider them to be dairy and all dairy I have to put in the fridge or else I will feel really uncomfortable its weird.

In the fridge even though here in Germany/Austria in the supermarkts they aren't refridgerated.
