I was 18 I believe.... I lost my virginity to a girl... Hooked up with a couple girls after too, then switched over to guys almost a decade later.

    How do you define it?

My first hook up was at age 24 with a guy I met on a "hook up app". He gave me a hand job and attempted to blow me. I mean that was the first time I had any type of sex with a guy in my life. And first time I had any type of sex with anyone in my life

I’m shocked at the number of virgin adults posting . My immediate reaction is that’s unhealthy but on second thoughts you can’t generalise as everyone’s different. Don’t want to get into any discussion about religious prohibitions though.

I lost my virginity ( seems there’s some doubt as to what the term actually means here) at age 14. I’d been fully aware I was attrected to other males sexually from a very early age but had romantic ideas about girls too. My first experience was with TA & his sister the day after they moved in next-door. One look at TA and I was smitten. My first ‘root’ was with his sister while he gave it to me. The strangest thing to me at the time was I actually enjoyed the pain. When however TA wanted me to be active with him while he did it to his sister I bailed out. Too kinky for me at the time I’m afraid.
Many years later I ran into TA (then married with 4 children). He’d continued having sex with other men behind his wife’s back. Sadly that meeting was in hospital on the AIDS ward.
After my ‘deflowering’ ( love that term) with TA and his sister I discovered the showers at the local Surf Life Saving Club and never looked back.
Some of you may question does love come into this. I’m of a generation who had to hide our sexuality but often found in casual encounters a form of love as intense and moving as some long term relationships. Hard to explain to anyone who didn’t live through that era.

Maybe with the spread of Covid 19 that’s the best place to be unless you meet someone you fully trust and they test negative to this latest corona virus and a few others such as HIV. I was lucky in more ways than one. Promiscuous from the age 14 for decades I avoided so many dangers it’s amazing I’m still here at age 74.

How is being an adult virgin unhealthy? Not everyone is lucky enough to have dated or been in relationships growing up.

I kind of get what he means. Sex is way more important as a teenager than it is at any other point in life from what I've observed/experienced, the 16-18 range in particular. Like other things while growing up, it has a vastly irrational emotional impact and changes the way people feel and interact with the world, like massively increasing their confidence and helping them feel more emotionally stable when all the hormones are causing instability everywhere else in their life. Missing that "life boost" by not getting those benefits from it seems to delay lots of other things in the person's life and leaves them a bit behind others on different life milestones from what I've seen.

For me, it was extremely calming and almost therapeutic to start having sex at 16, it made me feel valued and cared about when I usually felt forgotten about or invisible at home, and gave me tons more confidence and less anxiety over stuff. I've learned so much from/about people solely through sex too, it's really pretty amazing how much you can learn about someone in a short hookup and how it permanently affects your own worldview.

To a woman, 15 in my basement, we used to sneak home at lunch from school and have quickies, learned how to make her squirt from a Playboy magazine article at some point, lol she soaked my mattress and box spring for a week.

To a guy. Fooled around did everything but for years with different guys, I lost my actual virginity last summer to a nice guy. finally got the guts to ask for it!

16 with my best friend. I had no clue that he had any interest. Maybe it was a heat of the moment thing but he initiated and we had a great afternoon!

Dude, I was 23 when I lost mine lol. You’re good. And besides there’s no real time line as to when you should lose it. You do it when you feel ready.

    24 - male
    25 - female

Social anxiety held me back in a big way. And yes, I didn't actually have a relationship with a woman until after I'd been out for some time and already slept with men.
