What's your Ethnicity?

Since I'm Hispanic/Latina as well, I took 23andme.
I scored 66.4% European.
I knew I wasn't purely European, but I expected to score 75-80% European. I'm pretty pale and most people think I'm white. I'm 1/16th German and part basque. The German didn't show up on 23andme, but there seemed to be evidence for it on other calculators/tests. My grandma has a German last name. My dad used to tell me my german side made me have light skin. I also scored 1.5% Jewish, while my dad scored 2.7% Jewish. My paternal grandmother is fascinated with Jewish stuff, so that was good news for her.
I scored 28% Native American
I knew I would score some native. I just expected less. The only native thing about me is my eyes. Some people on the internet troll me about looking Asian or having Down syndrome. I've also been mistaken for being First Nations/Metis a few times. Which is weird because South American natives look nothing like Canadian natives. On some other tests I score 30% Native American. I've also scored 1% Pacific Islander on other tests, but I think it's noise.
I scored 1% Middle Eastern and 1% Black
Which I wasn't surprised about. One my mom's side of the family a lot of people look middle eastern. My paternal grandfather looks like Dwayne the Rock Johnson, so there was rumors about his side of the family being part black. I think my low black score proves those rumors were untrue.

 

I find your results fascinating. I may have to do one of these DNA kits some time. I'd be curious as to the exact makeup of my ancestry. As a "white-looking Mexican", I've often confounded people with my race/heritage and I've only ever been able to give "short answers" or approximations but to have it all down like that in a concise summary would be interesting to know.

English/Scottish/French from my dad's side.

Polish and Lithuanian from my moms side.

And I believe I'm 1/64th Mohawk Native American.

 

Not sure. I look white, so I go with that. But my dad's dad might have been a person of color. My dad said once that he was probably part Native American. But neither my dad or me have met my dad's dad, so...
Also, I asked my mom what my background was on her side, and she said, "Why does it matter?" That's a stupid thing to say, isn't it? I would like to know where I come from! Anyway, everyone on that side seems to be white, so I'll assume they descended from European ancestry.

I'm German, with some significant Hungarian-Swedish heritage and a very little amount of Finnish.
I wasn't born in Germany, though.

 

Irish. Did my family history and found some English decent but, as it turns out, their ancestors came from...you guessed it- Ireland.

 

I was born in Germany, my grandfather was born in Eastern Prussia (which is Poland now). They had to leave during the 2nd world war. My ancestors came from Britain to Prussia in the 16hundreds (so a reaaally long time ago):icon_bigg

 

25% danish, like 10% german, 65%Swiss and 100% pasty white

 

My mum's British and my dad is Argentinian and his grandparents were Italian. But generally i just say British Hispanic.

 

Mostly Czech, little Moravian, and my grandmother on mother's side was born in Slovakia and had Polish grandfather. Recently I realized I might have some ancestors from Norway and Island. Wow.

 

Lets see...I'm Blackfeet, Sioux, Cherokee, German, and Irish. I mostly identify with the Blackfeet part though.

 

I'm half Anglo Australian (father's side), and half Irish and half English (mother's side). I also have some Scottish ancestry on both sides.

Er... well, my mom's side is Russian and Polish I think. And my dad's side is Irish. So those are my origin countries. I've been to Ireland once in my life, a truly beautiful country, that.
